"Lady Yellow Jackests" land Georgia HoopStar

Avondale H.S. star makes a commitment to GA Tech

Shaday Woolcock is a member of the Georgia HoopStars AAU Program coached by J.D. Davis.
It was confirmed to me late Sunday night by Georgia HoopStars AAU Head Coach J.D. Davis that one of his star players Shaday Woolcock a 5-9 sophomore from Avondale High School has committed to play basketball for the “Lady Yellow Jackets” of Georgia Tech and Head Coach MaChelle Joseph.

Woolcock who was recently named as a 4SHOT Sports All-Classification All-Star as well as a AJC 1st Team Class AAA All-State selection was the 8th leading scorer in Dekalb County and the top scorer on the Avondale “Lady Blue Devils” with a 15.3 scoring average last season. While she can score from pretty much anywhere on the court Woolcock’s can also put it down on the defensive end of the court also, she led the County in steals with 4.4 steals per game.

Woolcock's was the top scorer on the Avondale "Lady Blue Devils" with a 15.3 scoring average.
Davis who is no stranger to having one of the young ladies in is AAU Program committing early, a few years ago he went through the same thing with his daughter former Paideia star Sparkle Davis who committed to UGA after her freshman year in high school but ended up signing with the Univ. of Auburn after her senior year.

According to Coach Davis, Shaday and her mom's Ms. Jones are extremely excited and can’t wait until she can sign, so this commitment appears as if it might stick all they way to her senior season. Davis also calls Woolcock one of the real shinning stars in a program full of stars for the Georgia HoopStars, and having watched her perform since middle school I would agree.
