NBA
The age of jumping from High School to the NBA has ended starting 2006. On June 21, 2005 news broke that as part of the NBA's new collective bargaining agreement with it's union, there will be an age limit imposed which will prevent players who are not at least 19 years old on draft day from entering the league. Players will now have to spend at least one year in college before being declared eligible for the draft.

COLLEGE
From Tiger To Nole
 |
| Dean Tony The Tiger by L.A. Jonesboro High Stand out has taking a new direction in his carrer. |
Toney Douglas has transfered to Florida State.
Douglas will sit out the 2005-06 season, but will have three seasons of eligibility remaining, says Florida State coach Leonard Hamilton.
Douglas asked for a release from Auburn earlier this month after averaging 16.9 points per game as one of the Southeastern Conference's top freshmen.
The freshman was not happy at shooting guard and wanted to develop his skills as a point guard in anticipation of an NBA career.
Release The Tiger
Auburn guard Toney Douglas has been given his release to transfer to any school outside the SEC.
Douglas led the Tigers in scoring as a freshman. Douglas has declared himself eligible for the NBA draft. He did not sign with an agent and will not returning to college, and unfortunately was not invited to the NBA's pre-draft camp in Chicago.
His father, Harry Douglas, complained after the season that his son plays point guard and played out of position at shooting guard as a freshman decreasing his stock in the upcoming NBA Draft.
Auburns head coach Jeff Lebo issued this statement: "Unfortunately, there were some unrealistic demands and expectations placed upon Auburn basketball and the coaching staff." "Toney is a good kid. I feel that last year was extremely positive, as he had an outstanding freshman season at Auburn."
Douglas ranked fourth in the SEC, averaging 16.9 points.

The Georgia Stars 11-U AAU basketball team could be found outside the local Wal-Mart off Panola Road in Lithonia Georgia raising money to go to Nationals in Orlando Florida, July 9th-16th.
Team assistant Monique Antoine advised that it’s 800 dollars a kid and the teams needs about 8,000 dollars to send all the players to the event.
The players participating in their own fundraiser were Clarence Reese Jr, Maurice Antoine, Jarmal Reid, Darren Christian, and Rakeem Nelson. The team is currently rank number 2 in the state with a record of 15-3. Here are some players’ comments:
#23 – Clarence Reese Jr, going to McNair Middle School. My favorite player is Lebron James and I have improved being able to dribble the ball with my left hand.
#32 – Maurice Antoine. My favorite player is Tracy McGrady and I have improved my defense.
#5 – Jarmal Reid. My favorite player is SHAQ and I have improved my jump shot.
#21 – Darren Christian. My favorite player is Allen Iverson. The best thing about playing AAU with the Georgia Stars is learning the game, traveling and making new friends.
#1 – Rakeem Nelson. My favorite player is Steve Nash and I enjoy my teammates.
Team Mom is Karen Nelson and this is her take on the name “team mom” and advice for future team moms. “It can be hard at times and very stressful. You are a psychologist, a mother and coach all in one. You want to be able to provide an avenue where you can help young boys grow into young men.” “For future teams moms you have to have a lot of patience and support the young men to be better players and have great attitudes.”
