Right Down to the Wire

The number one sophomore in the state in Terran Condrey.
The Lady Red Devils of Randolph-Clay would cross the Chattahoochee River to face the Lady Tigers of Eufaula High School in a sold out gymnasium. The rivalry between the states has been going on for years. The Lady Red Devils would win last years game, but the Lady Tigers have a different idea this year.

 

The Lady Red Devils enter the game behind the backcourt play of Shondra Brooks and Anna Avera. Both guards have the ability to score from anywhere on the court and have quick first steps on the way to the basket. With the two shooting guards holding down the perimeter the post belongs to Brittany Daniels. Daniels is an automatic double double every night. Brittany can rebound with the best of them and when it comes to scoring, she has post moves galore.

 

When the Lady Tigers from Eufaula hit the floor, they are powered by the number one sophomore in the state in Terran Condrey. Condrey upsize give her the ability to play four positions. Her ultimate position at point guard makes her the floor general. Condrey can score from inside and outside. Terran sees the floor well and raises the play of her fellow teammates.

 

The game would get on the way with a basket in the paint by none other than Daniels to put the Lady Red Devils out front 2-0. Jeannette Hubbard would answer back with 2 of her own in the paint and the game would be all tied at 2 points each. Daniels would score 9 straight points in the first period and the Lady Devils would close it out on top 18-17.

 

Even though, Daniels scored a half high of 16 points in the first half. The Lady Tigers Super Sophomore Condrey would start to go off. Condrey burnt the Lady Devils for 12 points in the second period. With 5 seconds left before the half, the Lady Tigers Je’Neane Porter would answer with a jumper in the paint to give her team the lead going into the half with the score 42-35.

With 3:15 to go in the game, Daniels would foul out but not before she could score a game high 32 points and grab 11 rebounds for the game. In a game of fouls and who could shot their free throws. The game would go down to the buzzer. The Lady Tigers would be up one point with 3.2 seconds left in the game on 2 free throws from Condrey 68-67. On the Lady Red Devils in bound play, the Lady Tigers Beonca Reeves would foul Shondra Brooks, sending her to the free throw line to win the game. The Randolph Clay fans were holding their breathe as Shondra made the first free throw to tie the game and on the second free throw they jumped for joy as the Lady Red Devils pulled out a close one to the score 69-68.
