| Janay Bazemore led the way for Lady Eagles. |
It was easy going for the Mt. Vernon Christian School Lady Crusaders as they pounced on the outmatched Victory Christian School Lady Eagles 41-24 on Monday night at Victory Christian School.
Mt. Vernon, led by Jesse Bailey and Rebekah Estes, scored nine points before Victory got on the board and never looked back.
The Lady Crusaders dominated on defense with Bailey making timely steals and going the length of the floor to score. Estes and Chasity Clark owned the boards allowing Victory just one try at the basket paving the way for the Lady Crusaders to jump out on a 14-0 run to end the first period ahead 23-2. Mt. Vernon went on a 9-5 run in the second period to take a 32-7 lead to the locker room at the half.
Victory outscored Mt. Vernon 26-18 in the second half on the play of the Bazemore sisters Janay and Evonne. Deborah Hodgin and Danielle Baker took control of the boards allowing Mt. Vernon only one point in the third period.

| Jesse Bailey tormented Lady Eagles defense. |
Janay got the Lady Eagles rolling on offense coming off the bench making back-to-back steals and taking the ball the length of the court to score on both robberies. Evonne’s ball handling set up and pin point passing set up the Lady Eagles’ offense putting them in position to make easy baskets. Baker went up to block two Mt. Vernon tries and Hodgin snatched an offensive rebound going back up to lay the ball off the glass for two, but too little too late as the Lady Crusaders left the gym with the victory.
The Game:
