The game between the Taylor County Vikings versus the Peach County Trojans was one to remember. The Trojans would enter the game with the winning attitude after the football team cliniched the state class 3-A state title. The Trojans would enter the game powered by (Auburn Signee in football) Chris Slaughter on the break and Sheirdan Thomas on the perimeter. The paint would belong to Adrian Rumph and the Trojans would have a triple threat. The Vikings Darius Harp would carry the load for his team with 18 points. When the game started the three pointers would begin. In the first half both teams would combine for 7 three pointers.

The Vikings Scottie Searcy would nail a three at the buzzer to end the first period. The Viking would open second period the same way with a three pointer from Keith Holston. The Trojans would counter the act with 2 back to back three pointers from Sheirdan Thomas. At the half the score would be Peach County 45 Taylor County 39.

In the second half the Vikings would strike first on a lay up from Darius Harp. With 3 consecutive rebounds and 2 back to back scores by Harp the Viking would cut the lead to 2 points 45-43 with 5:59 to go in the third period. The Trojans would go on a 10-0 run capped off by a monster dunk by Thomas to the score 53-43 with 3:45 to go in the period. But for some reason the Viking would not go away, behind the scoring of Calvin Perry Taylor County would go on a 11-4 run to close the period only down 3 points to the score 57-54.

In the final period Taylor County would take the lead to the score 60-59 with 5:01 left on a basket by Perry on the lay up forcing the Trojans to take a timeout. The Viking Gibson would hook up with teammate Harp for 2 points for the no look pass during the run. When it was all said the final seconds would go like this; 2 free throws by Searcy.

Final Score:  Peach County 70 Taylor County 67
