There is no more sleeping. 4SHOT Hoops and the rest of the world now know who is Andy Ogide, the “Walking Highlight Reel”. The 6’9 Senior has made a verbal commitment to the University of Virginia and goal is to get Paulding County pass the first round of the state playoffs. First step in that Direction is Rome High School.
The games between the Paulding County “Patriots” versus the Rome “Wolves” would be all highlight reel. The Wolves would be lead by the youngsters Brian Watters, Jamalcolm Griffin (Freshman) and Terrell Burley (Sophomore).
In the second period, Andy would get back to back blocks and run the floor setting up an alley-oop from teammate Zach Thomason to put the Patriots up 30-16 with 1:18 to go in the second period.
With the halftime score 32-20, Andy would start the third period with a hook shot in the paint creating a 8-0 run 40-20. Zach Thomason and Zach Sims would both score on lay ups off of back-to-back steals for the Patriots. The run would finally hit brakes with 6:15 to go in the third period on two free throws from Toryan Smith 22-42.
I ask fan Mike Kilpatrick what he thinks about Andy’s dunks and block party? “Every time the kid block a shot he smiles and looks at the crowd. Every time he dunks he is so high above the rim, the sheriff over there should give him a ticket for flying. The kid is just tremendously fun to watch.” (Smiles)
Kut Said: “Walking highlight reel.”
We move to the fourth period when, Ogide would go on monster display for the film with 4rebounds, 3 blocks, 3 dunks and 2 three pointers. The Wolves would have no answer for Andy and the Patriots. Patriots would close out the game with the victory 73-48
