The game between the MLK “Lions” versus the Druid Hills “Devils” was hard fought and battle tested. The Lions would look to prove they are the kings of the jungle. The Devils on the other hand would heat things up their likings.

The Lions would enter the game powered behind super scores in Justin Womble and David Martin. The combination would score 27 of the Lions total points. Womble would score from in and out, giving the Devils all they could handle.

The Devils would counter the Lions threat with big man Kerry Weavers and shooter Justin Bailey, who would bring the individual hustle back in style. Weavers would give a block party and invite every player from the Lions to attend, V.I.P. style.

The game would tip off with the first basket going to MLK on to puts in the lane by Womble 2-0.  With 2:33 to go in the first period Womble would be still on the attack, nailing a three pointer from the corner to put the Lions up 7-4. Then in comes Bailey for the Devils scoring 4 straight points to give the Devils the lead 8-7 on a steal, follow by a lay up and a mid-range jumper. To close out the first period, D Lee would steal the ball and go in for an easy lay up to give the Devils the lead into the second period 11-9.

The visiting Devils fans would go crazy when the big man Weavers would go in for the 2 handed dunk to gave Druid Hills a 10 point lead to the score 21-11, sparking a 10-2 run with 3:15 to go in the second period.

Demetrius played well on defense.

Halftime Druid Hills 25 MLK 18.

In the fourth period, both teams would battle back and forth. MLK would tie the game at 49 a piece with 3:15 left in the fourth period on a basket by Womble. Michael Bridges would come off the bench for the Devils and hit the 2 points that turn the game around with 2 minutes left in the game to move the score to 51-49. The key to the game would be determine at the free-throw line as the Devils Abuigine Jouseut, and Weavers clutch shooting seal the deal.
