Youth Football Saturday

The future of football starts here. Whether you call it Pee Wee, Rec Ball,

The future of the NFL starts here!
Sandlot or Pop Warner, it’s the game all grown men who love the sport played as a child. The NFL players had to start from somewhere. Most of us forget when we turn on the television on Sunday to cheer on our favorite team, where the players’ foundations were set. Who remembers the youth football coach that made the difference in their lives just by encouraging them on the field? Let’s just take the time to tell all coaches thanks for what you do with the youth and keep on being great role models.

Football is like a battle and in order to fight a battle you have to have the right equipment.

Equipment – Ephesians 6:10-17 “Armor”

1)      Hip pads and belt – :14“the belt of truth buckled around your waist”

2)      Shoulder pads - :14 “with the breastplate of righteousness in place”

3)      Cleats (shoes) - :15 “ with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace”

4)      Forearm pads - :16 “In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith”

5)      Helmet & Football - :17 “Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit”

Now that we are equipped to play, let’s see what happens when the Meadowcreek “Mustangs” takes on the Grayson “Ram”.

Mustangs out run the Rams

127 yards too many by Jalene Pinckney

Meadowcreek “Mustangs” versus Grayson “Rams” (6-7 years old)

College scouts get ready now!
9:27 am – The first game of the day would get start with the Mustangs hitting the scoreboard first with a 11 yard carry for a touchdown by Jalene Pinckney to gave Meadowcreek the lead at the half 6-0.

The coaches would have the Mustangs geared up after halftime as Pinckney would get right to work on his second touch of the quarter for 42 yards up the sideline to put the mustangs on top 12-0.

The Grayson Rams would not go away as they would strike in the third quarter on a quarterback keeper up the middle by Knight. The Rams would convert the extra point and only be down 5 points to the score 12-7.

The Lady Rams were great!

Taking a play out of the Rams playbook, the Mustangs decided to run a quarterback keeper of their own with 1:41 to go in the third quarter and Aaron Buick would scramble for 42 yards to increase the Mustang lead to 18-7.

As the Rams look to lose all hope, the coaches would turn to star quarterback Knight, who would put the team on his shoulders scoring a team high 3 touchdowns in the game and moving the score to 13-18 with 8:27 left in the game on a pump fake run from 3 yards out.

The Rams seemed to start to get things under control but their only nightmare was Jalene. Pinckney would diminish the hope of the Rams traveling faithful as he would score 2 more touchdowns of 27 yards and a game daggering 38 yards to seal the deal 30-20.

Final Score: Meadowcreek 30 Grayson 20

Mustangs burn the Red Devils

48 yards on defense makes the difference

Meadowcreek “Mustangs” versus Loganville “Red Devils” (8 years old)

Meadowcreek High SchoolNorcross, GA

47 yards later we can seal the deal!
11:07 am – As we enter the second game of the day between the Loganville “Red Devils” versus the Meadowcreek “Mustangs”, we get the feeling the Mustangs were going to try to make it 2 victories straight. Now that the 6-7 year olds were out the way, the 8 year old guys hit the field on a defensive mission.

The defensive of Mustangs would step up as #22 would pick off pass attempt by the Red Devils to give them the ball on their 33 yard line. The offense of the Mustangs would have a slow start on their first possession with a three down and out. Refusing to do the same, the Mustangs would get it together on their

Let's give it up for the cheerleaders.
second possession on a hand off to Rasaan Johnson who runs left side between the left guard and tackle to hit pay dirt on a 47 yard touchdown putting the Mustangs up 7-0.

The defensive would continue to shut out the Red Devils in the second quarter as the “Raging Mustangs” would force a fumble, which is picked up by Rasaan Johnson and returned 48 yards to seal the game. Both teams defense would not give up any points in the second half and that would prove to be in favor of the Mustangs.

Final Score:  Meadowcreek 14 Loganville 0

 The Chargers are Elite

Dabarrious 50 yard burst too much

Doraville “Chargers” versus Dekalb “Elite Trojans” (90 Pounds)

Forest Fleming Field – Doraville, GA

Dabarrious Lucas with the sprint!
12:23 pm – The third game on our schedule would feature 2 undefeated teams. The Doraville “Chargers” 3-0-1 versus the Dekalb “Elite Trojans” 4-0, one thing about this game was that one team had to leave with a loss.

We pick the game up with 5:08 left in the first quarter when turn on the jets up the middle for a 50 yard touchdown run to put the Chargers on the scoreboard first 6-0.

The Elite looked to tie the game on special teams with a great run by #3 that was spoiled on a touchdown saving tackle by Tristin Satterfield. After the Chargers defense forced a three and out, the offense would take over.

Tristin Satterfield big on special teams.

DaQuan Hunter would pull a Reggie Bush on the Elite defense and scrambling for 42 yards on the touchdown moving the score to 12-0 early, giving the Elite hopeful a sense of desperation.

Running back #5 for the Elite would answer the bell on a sprint from 17 yards out to put the Elite on the board before the half 12-6.

After a good chewing out by the Chargers coach, the defense would not give up any points in the second half. The Chargers would hold on to the victory 12-6.

Final Score: Chargers 12 Elite Trojans 6

Got Spirit!
The “Lady Chargers” Cheerleaders, coached by Alicia Jackson did a great job in keeping the crowd into the game and cheering on their players. Shout out to all the cheerleader coaches for the great jobs you do.

The Trojans with the Get Back

You got to be joking

Doraville “Chargers” versus Dekalb “Elite Trojans” (120 Pounds)

Forest Fleming Field – Doraville, GA

Evan Jones or Reggie Bush?
4:58 pm – The last game of the day would be the most talked about at first. As a matter of fact it would be one of my main reasons to be out to see the defense of the Chargers that has yet to be scored upon this season. The 120 pounders game feature 2 teams that were undefeated.

This is what happens in the first quarter. The Elite would score on the Chargers to end the scoreless streak on a burst around the right side of the line from 13 yards by Evans Jones to put the Elite up 6-0 with 3:32 to go in the first quarter. Jones would continue to give IT to the Chargers defense as he would burn out for 55 yards to move the score to 14-0 after a successful extra point by Jonathan. I would stop but the Trojans wouldn’t stop, as Aaron Stables would run a quarterback keeper for 33 yards down to the Chargers 2 yard line. Jones who already has 2 touchdowns in the game would have his number called on again from to yards out to put the Trojans up at the half 21-0.

Kut Moment: 1 Samuel 12:23

“As for me, far be it from me that I should sin against the Lord by failing to pray for you, and I will teach you the way that is good and right.”

We all know how hard it is to love or pray for someone that we dislike. Even though our sinful ways would drive us to hate, the right way would be to pray for that person. “Love thou neighbor,” comes to mind as a reminder. “As we forgive those who trespass against us,” is another. Remember no matter how bad it may get or seem, don’t fail the Lord by not praying for the individual.

Amen
