| Teondre wakes up the neighborhood! |
When it comes to rivalry games, the Berkmar Patriots and the Meadowcreek Mustangs have really turned up the heat. The schools separated by less than 9 miles would feature players that were very familiar with each other. The gym was full and the Berkmar fans started the chant, “Chris can’t save you”. Well, the Mustangs might not have had Michigan States Spartans Chris Allen but Teondre Williams (Headed to the University of Oregon) would step up to the challenge as leader.
Wesley Witherspoon would connect on a big three pointer in the first period to put the Patriots out front early. The Mustangs Charles Johnson would answer with a three pointer and the first period would end with the home team up 18-15.
The Mustangs would only be able to muster 10 points in the second period, while the Patriots put up 21. The Patriots TJ Smith would come off the bench in the second period and score 6 straights points to spark the run. After Smith drove baseline and hit the reverse lay-up, Medowcreeks head coach Billy Davis would get a time out to try to settle the herd. Unfortunately, the Patriots would take the lead into the half 36-28.
You can tell that the Mustangs were looking for something to get the team fired up. It wouldn’t be too long before Teondre would connect on a monster dunk that would wake up the neighborhood.

Even though the dunk was exciting, it wasn’t enough as the Patriots forced 15 turnovers and grabbed 27 rebounds to storm away with the victory.
Kut Talk: It’s nothing like a rivalry game!
Final Score: Berkmar 80 Meadowcreek 63

Girls Game
Lady Patriots Ranked Eighth
Tyra Smith 21 points too many.

I knew it was going to be a long night as Tyra Smith drained her first three-pointer from the corner to excite the Patriots crowd. Brittany McDonald would snatch down 10 rebounds and finished with 8 blocks to control the paint for Berkmar. The Lady Mustangs Brooke Wigfall would connect on several jumpers but that wouldn't be enough as the Lady Patriots win this one 75-49.
