The game between the Norcross Blue Devils versus the Centennial Knights would be the rematch of last years state Class 5-A finals. The game would feature heavy weight players in the game in Al-Farouq Aminu and Lorenzo Brown. At the end of the day would this be a repeat of the state finals?
The game got on the way with a deep three pointers by Robby Johnson.
(Halftime 23-22 in favor of Blue Devils.)
Denzail Jones would open the 3rd period up with a three pointer and the Blue Crew would raise the volume in the gym. Aminu would score next in the paint to move the score to 7 points on a turn around bank shot. After two 2 free throws by Aminu the lead would push to 8 points 32-24 with 5:47 left in the third period. Can the Knights slow down this run by the Blue Devils? Brown would score 6 points for the Knights but that wouldn’t stop the bleeding as the Blue Devils end the period up 42-35.

Brown would come out smoking in the fourth period as if it was his last game and nail a deep three-pointer 42-38. Coach Martin would have to call a timeout to get his team focus in a hurry. After the timeout, Hawkins would hit the mid-range jumper followed by a three-pointer from Tariq Muhammad 48-38. The Blue Crew would raise the noise in the gym once more, until coach Allen Whitehart would have to call a timeout for the Knights. After that it was pretty much a done deal. Just like last year.
Final Score: Norcross 69 Centennial 54
