Chiefs chop the Wildcats
Austin Powers, get it?
Duluth HS – Duluth, GA
 |
| Pitcher and Hitter, Junior Andrew Austin. |
The McIntosh Chiefs would Travel all the way from Peachtree City Georgia to face the Duluth Wildcats. Both teams boast losing records (McIntosh 2-6, Duluth 1,3) but look to turn things around in today’s match up. The Chiefs would start the game behind the pitching of junior Andrew Austin.
We pick the game up in the top of the fifth inning, with the Chiefs up 3-2. Taylor Peaden would drive in Eric Weiss from second base on a base hit up the middle to move the score to 4-2. Pitcher Andrew Austin would come up to bat and convert his second sacrifice hit of the day to bring in a run from third base, moving the score to 5-2.
In the top of the seventh the Chiefs would continue to pour it on as relief pitcher Cy Wright and Taylor Peaden would drive in runs to move the score to its final 8-2.
The Chiefs Johnathan Tanis would go 4 for 4 with 2 RBI’s, Cameron Rich 3 for 4 with 1 RBI, Taylor Peaden, Chris Larson and Eric Weiss would go 2 for 4 all with 1 RBI.
Wolverines Scratch the Generals
The battle of the aces, Hess versus Carr.
Shiloh HS – Snellville, GA
 |
| (L-R) Josh Carr and Sean Hess. |
After losing three games in a row, the Shiloh “Generals” looked to start their winning ways against the visiting Woodstock “Wolverines”. Unfortunately, head coach Scott Krug had other ideas in plan. Like senior ace pitcher Sean Hess who is getting looks from West Virginia, Georgia State, Oglethorpe, just to name a few on the mounds for the Wolverines. As the Wolverines entered the game with a 3-2 record, they look to stay above five hundred against the Generals 6’4 ace in Josh Carr.
Carr would pitch well up until the top of the 3rd inning striking out 4 when Drew Shields would come in to score on a wild pitch 1-0 in favor of the Wolverines. Sean Hess would some how get out of 2 bases loaded jams on a high curve ball and a inside slider to keep the Generals bats at bay.
The final score would come in the top of the fifth inning when Jakob Dalfonso would drive in Shields to score from second base on a line drive down first base to seal the victory 2-0.
The Wolverines move to 4-2, while the Generals record extends to 0-4. The Generals look to turns things around the next day (3/11/08) against Greater Atlanta Christian “Spartans”. The Wolverines look to make the Creekview Grizzles their next victim at home on Wednesday (3/12/08).
Message of the Week!
Galatians 6:8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature [Or his flesh, from the flesh] will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
Situation: Twin high school baseball all stars Michael and Matt Kinson were brothers that did everything together. Even though both were all stars, Michael used enhancement drugs and steroid. Michael died during the last game of his senior season. His brother Matt went on to be drafted as the first pick in the upcoming MLB draft.
