Lumpkin making a way in Green Bay Former Stephenson H.S. star begins his NFL dream
 |
| Lumpkin goes through drills at his first offical NFl practice. |
Former UGA star running back Kregg Lumpkin is now in a position to make his childhood dreams of playing in the NFL come true, after an injury plagued career at the University of Georgia, Lumpkin went undrafted in this years NFL Draft but he had shown enough promise during his UGA days that the Green Bay Packers made him a priority free-agent signing.
Already loaded with a stable of running backs which includes last years outstanding rookie and the teams leading rusher Ryan Grant (Notre Dame) the former Stephenson H.S. All-American has his work cut out for him.
I have no doubt that if Lumpkin can stay healthy and regain that spark that made him such an highly touted running back at Stephenson H.S. and the player who captured the hearts of UGA fans as a freshman that he will make the team and ultimately become a big contributor for the Green Bay Packers.

| a practice tradition in Green Bay is that the players ride the bike of kid to the practice field. Here Lumpkin takes his first ride to pratice. |
Hey “Lump-Lump” it’s just like riding a bike, get back on and do your thing. Remember being an undrafted free-agent didn’t stop the likes of Darrell Hackney (QB on the Denver Broncos and a former All-State performer for the Douglass H.S. “Astros”), Warren Moon (former Houston Oilers QB, now in the Hall of Fame), Antonio Gates (TE - San Diego Chargers, now an All-Pro), Rod Smith (WR - Denver Broncos an All-Pro) and Priest Holmes (former Kansas City Chiefs RB,); oh it can be done.
As a UGA freshman Lumpkin broke onto the college scene wearing #28 and made the All-SEC Freshman Team. As a junior and senior he wore # 6 the same number he wore in high school. He’s now wearing #28 again. Jay-Z said the numbers don’t lie!
See you on Sunday’s Lump!
