Shiloh comes back to win "Generals on a roll" The Bunker - Snellville, GA

The Shiloh Generals (2-0 overall, 0-0 Region-8-AAAAA) getting adapt to winning football games as evident in their 21-13 victory over Mt. Zion Bulldogs (1-1 overall, 0-0 Region-4-AAAA Friday.
The Bulldogs put a scare in the Generals in the opening minute of the first period when they bull rushed the Generals’ offensive front to block a punt and down the ball in the end zone. The point after was perfect and the Dawgs took a 7-0 lead.
When the Generals went back on offense they decided to put the ball in the hands of sophomore running back Sam Muse and junior tailback Eugene Glenn (Gwinnett County’s leading rusher) to take the load for the evening.
Muse put the Generals on the board scoring from 15 yards out. Cooper Davis PAT went through the uprights tying the game at seven as the period ended.
Mt. Zion received the ball at their 20-yard line to begin the second quarter and drove the ball 80 yards with sophomore Quartterio Morgan capping the drive with a 6-yard run at the 11:23 mark. Shiloh blocked the PAT attempt and the Dawgs led 13-7.
The Generals moved the ball down to Mt. Zion’s 45-yard line before the Dawgs’ defense led by junior Willie Harvey tightened to thwart a possible scoring drive.

Mt. Zion seemed to be headed for another scoring drive when junior quarterback Jarrel King found senior wide receiver Drexel Copeland 28 yards down field for a Mt. Zion first down to the General 33-yard line.
After that, the Generals’ defense did some tightening of their own with senior linebacker Deaunta Harper setting up house in the Dawgs’ backfield.
Harper stayed in King’s face the entire evening, but the Dawgs switched to it’s running game with Morgan doing the honors.
However, Shiloh, led by senior defensive end, Cameron Whigham and junior safety Devonta Bowens (5 TKLS, 1 fumble recovery, 2 forced fumbles) manned up on defense to keep Mt. Zion out of the end zone with 9:05 left in the first half.
Mt. Zion got the back and started a drive with King hitting junior wide receiver Lakendall Irby for s5 yards and a first down.
Mt. Zion ball at the 25-yard line with 2:18 remaining, but the Generals held and the half ended with Mt. Zion in the lead 13-7.
Head coach Keith Wilkes made some adjustments at halftime coming out throwing the ball with sophomore quarterback Mark Wright hitting his tight end for 26 yards and the first down
The Generals capped an 80-yard scoring drive with a 14-yard scamper by Muse. Davis’ point after put Shiloh ahead 14-13 with 3:39 left in the third.

Shiloh defense played tough in the final period denying any type of threat by Mt. Zion giving their offense good field position throughout the period.
The Generals’ offense took advantage of the good field position awarded by their defense and Wright went in from 42 yards out to put another score on the board for Shiloh. Davis’ PAT put the Generals ahead 21-13 with 8:03 remaining.
The Generals’ defense continued their assault on the Dawgs’ offense for the remainder of the contest to give Shiloh a 21-13 victory for back-to-back wins opening the 2008 season.
