Chamblee “Bulldogs” vs. Lithonia “Bulldogs”

Chamblee routs Lithonia

The Big Dogs teach the Puppies a lesson

James R. Hallford Stadium – Clarkston, GA

Chamblee RB, Warren Norman score two touchdowns against Lithonia.
Clarkston, GA – If you consider yourselves Big Dogs and you challenge another pack of Big Dogs than you’d better do more than hold up a sign calling them Puppies because you might just end up going home with your tails wagging; which is what happen to the Lithonia Bulldogs after mocking the heavily favored No. 9 ranked Bulldogs from Chamblee.

Lithonia actually got off to a decent start as quarterback Julian Bellinger hooked up with his big tight-end Chryston Floyd twice for first downs as they moved the ball out to midfield. Lithonia lost 15-yards on big defensive plays by Chamblee’s DE-Artemus Norman and DL-Patrick Clark (#57) and was forced to punt.

Lithonia's Antonio Lee ran down Chamblee's Darius Jones to prevent a touchdown.
On Chamblee’s first offensive possession quarterback Garrett Williams hit his big tight-end Brandon Rhodes for 25-yards to the Lithonia eight-yard line to make if first and goal. A couple of plays later Williams hit WB-Darius Jones for the touchdown. Kicker Joshua Benton booted the PAT for a 7-0 lead.

Jones almost scored his second touchdown of the quarter when he returned a Lithonia punt 76-yards; only an outstanding hustle play by Lithonia’s Antonio Lee, who ran down the speedy Jones prevent him from crossing the goal line. Chamblee would end up scoring when RB-Warren Norman bolted over from the one to make it 13-0. Benton’s PAT made it 14-0 as the first-quarter came to an end.

Penalties really killed any type of offensive momentum Lithonia started, for every three good plays they would run they would counter it with a penalty that would push them back.

Lithonia quarterback Julian Bellinger faced pressure all-night long.; here he gets it from Joshua Brown.
Williams and Rhodes hooked up again for a big gain of 31-yards to the Lithonia twenty-five yard line. Lithonia DL-Jimmy Kitchen temporally slowed down the Chamblee attack when he busted up an option play and forced a fumble, fortunately for Chamblee they recovered the ball but they were forced to punt.

Lithonia blew a big opportunity when RB-Le’Dexter Hughley broke off a 48-yard run to the Chamblee twenty-one yard line but he fumbled and Artemus Norman from Chamblee recovered the ball.

Chamblee DB, Harold Sills has his radar on against Lithonia WR, Jabril Hightower.
With time running down in the half Chamblee mounted a drive that culminated in a Williams pass to RB-Warren Norman that covered 41-yards and a touchdown. It was Williams second touchdown pass of the half and Norman’s second touchdown. Benton’s PAT made it 21-0 heading into the half.

The second half was a replica of the first, Lithonia continued to make costly mistakes and Chamblee would capitalize in the form of two more touchdowns as the coasted to an easy victory. Chamblee is now 3-1 on the season while Lithonia falls to 1-3.
