Woodward's Elan Brown dropped 20 to lead the Lady War Eagles.

College Park, GA – Woodward Academy all-state performer Elan Brown once again put all of her skills on display as the Lady War Eagles easily disposed of a gutsy Mary Person’s team. Brown scored inside and out enroot to a game high 20 points.

Led by Brown and point-guard Ashley Pritchett the Lady War Eagles jumped out to a 21-10 first quarter lead; the duo combined for 14 of those points. Emily Davis and Sasha Lipford each scored a couple baskets for Mary Person.

There really wasn’t a lot of action in the second quarter as the teams took turns trading baskets back and forth; Brown and Pritchett continued to be the catalyst for Woodward Academy and Alex Carmen stepped up her game as they took a 33-19 lead into the half.

MPH So.Emily Davis showed some promise scoring 11 points.

Brown a Vanderbilt signee showed off her long range shooting in the third quarter when she stepped out behind the arch and drilled a three-pointer as the Lady War Eagles increased their lead.

Woodward turned up their defense pressure in the quarter and it really forced Mary Person into several costly turnovers; the Lady Bulldogs also had a terrible time trying to put the ball in the basket managing only to score 6 point in the quarter.

Carmen, a 5-10 sophomore played big inside scoring 6 points as Woodward increased their lead to 52-25.

Both teams played their reserves for most of the forth quarter as Woodward Academy went on to a solid twenty-four point victory.

So.-Alex Carmen did a nice job scoring 10 points.
