Eagles Landing “Lady Golden Eagles” vs. Spalding “Lady Jaguars”
Spalding holds off Eagles Landing
Adams scores 27 in loss

Spalding H.S. – Griffin, GA

The Eagles Landing players had this view all night trying to deal with 6-4 Elem Ibiam (l) and 6-2 Shakeva Richards (r).
Griffin, GA – Eagles Landing's 5-5 So.-Mia Adams was scoring from everywhere finishing with a game high 27 points but it came in a loosing effort as they fell to Spalding for the second time this season.

Sporting a front line that goes 6-2, 6-4 and 6-0 Spalding H.S.was forced to play all 32 minutes of the game to fight off a scrappy Eagles Landing H.S. team that doesn’t have a player over 5-9.

Spalding didn’t waste any time taking advantage of their decided edge in height as they jumped out to a 9-0 lead over the “Mighty Mites” from Eagles Landing; 6-2 Shakeva Richards and 6-4 Elem Ibiam scored 8 of those 9 points.

Like I said Eagles Landing has a scrappy bunch of players and they showed a lot of heart as they battled to get back in the game; baskets by Kendra Adams and Mia Adams cut the lead to 11-10. Spalding then went on a 9-2 run behind the long range shooting of Shay Williams to open up a 20-12 lead at the end of the first quarter.

Shay Wright would drilled a three to give Spalding their largest lead of the game 23-12 as the second quarter got under way.

Eagles Landing combated Spalding height by using their speed and quickness deploying a full court press which gave the Lady Jaguars all kinds of problems and it helped the Lady Golden Eagles get back in the game.

By day Mia Adams (l) and Arkia Armstrong (r) are students at Eagles Landing H.S. but by game time they become the "Goggled Duet". They scored 27 and 20 points respectively in the loss.
The Eagles Landings “Goggled Duet” of Mia Adams and Arkia Armstrong really started heating up knocking down shots from all over the court as they cut the lead to 29-25 with 1:50 left in the half.

A three-pointer by Amesha Lindsey with time running out in the half gave Spalding a 34-30 lead.

Eagles Landing did a great job of using their quickness to beat Spalding to several loose balls and at the start of the third quarter that played to their advantage and it help free up Armstrong who drilled back-to-back three-pointers that gave them their first lead of the game 39-38.

Spalding would counter with a three by Williams to regain the lead 41-39. By the time the quarter ended Spalding led 48-42.

In the forth quarter Spalding Head Coach Demetrius King finally started really using the high/low with Richards and Ibiam to his advantage; Ibiam’s basket gave Spalding a 53-42 lead early in the forth quarter. She would score two more baskets later on to help give the Lady Jaguars a hard fought nine- point victory.

Eagles Landing's Kendra Adams says "Give me that" as she picks the pocket of Elem Ibiam when she turns to go to the basket.
The Final Score:
Spalding 69 – Eagles Landing 60
