Benjamin E. Mays has long history of all-star caliber basketball players; like “Lil D” DeAndre Bray, Rashad Chase, Jeff Newton and who could forget Matt Mitchell and the shows he use to put on, man. The Raiders have a junior guard by the name of Aloys Cabell IV whose name could be added among those based on the things he can do on the court. Cabell and I sat down for UnKUT conversation

L.A.: Tell the “Other” players your full name, that way when they get schooled they will remember who schooled them?
Aloys: Aloys Cabell IV
L.A.: Just in case they can’t remember you full name, do you have a nickname we can throw at them? Aloys: The kids call me AJ
L.A.: What school do you attend and what is your school classification (freshman, sophomore etc.)?
Aloys: I am a junior at Mays High School
L.A.: Which AAU program do you play for in the summer?
Aloys: Georgia Stars
L.A.: Are you originally from Atlanta, GA, if not where are you from?
Aloys: I moved to Atlanta from Flint, MI in the 8th grade
L.A.: Who have been some of the most influential people in your life?
Aloys: My mom most importantly, my father, and my cousin Jylisa Williams
L.A.: What has been one of the most memorable moments in your athletic career so far?
Aloys: When I put Mfon Udofia and Miller Grove out the region playoffs my freshmen year with a clutch shot
L.A.: What moment(s) would you most like to forget?
Aloys: When we lost to Mfon Udofia and Miller Grove my sophomore year in the region playoffs
L.A.: Who has been one of the toughest players you ever had to play against and who is the best high school player you personally have ever seen?
Aloys: Toughest player I have played would have to be Mfon and the best high school player I have ever seen would be Derrick Favors
L.A.: Tell me something about yourself that people wouldn’t know by just looking at you?
Aloys: That I am afraid of the dark
UnKUT: Not everybody can handle it when you come at them “UnKUT” but on Street Talk everything is “UnKUT”, no bias, no allegiances except to GOD and no make believe. Nobody can do you like you, so give it to them “UnKUT”

L.A.: As an athlete is it easier to get a date or harder?
Aloys: You already know how that goes. Way easier
L.A.: You are a basketball recruiter or analyst and you are scouting you, briefly what would your take be on your game:
Aloys: I am a scoring point guard. i have a lot of court savvy
L.A.: Can you cook, and I don’t mean boil an egg (laugh)?
Aloys: I can make the best cereal and sandwich in the world.
L.A.: Who is your favorite teacher in school?
Aloys: My 10th grade literature teacher Ms. Kenly
L.A.: Which subject do you like most and which subject do you like least?
Aloys: I would have to say social studies I do better in and math just suck completely
L.A.: What do you think you need to work on to take your game to the next level?
Aloys: I wanna work on my jump shot and athleticism
L.A.: Ok keep it real now; do you use the fact that you are an athlete to sometimes get your way?
Aloys: I try not to but sometimes it goes that way
L.A.: How does summer ball (AAU) differ from the regular season and do you like playing AAU ball more?
Aloys: Summer ball is more freely played. But I prefer high school cause that really prepares you for college.
L.A.: What do you want to do after your basketball career is over?
Aloys: I would become a basketball agent or coach

L.A.: What type of music do you like and do you have a favorite artist or group?
Aloys: I listen to anything that’s good. I mostly listen to Gucci Mane
L.A.: What is your favorite TV Show and Movie?
Aloys: TV show would have to be Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and movie would have to be Love and Basketball
