Decatur, GA – Stephenson’s Breanna Edwards was feeling it early scoring 6 points as the Lady Jaguars jumped out to an 8-2 lead. A three-pointer by Beija Velez from Chapel Hill would cut the lead to 8-5 with just under 3:00 minutes left in the first quarter.
Stephenson’s full court press caused Chapel Hill problems all game long; the Lady Jaguars would turn two steals caused by the press into baskets at the end of the quarter to take a 12-5 lead. Edwards would finish the quarter with 8 points.
Turnovers would continue to plaque Chapel Hill in the second quarter as the would only mange to score 4 points, all on free-throws.
Stephenson would use the three-pointer to increase their lead; K. Kudratt drained 2 three’s and A. Davis added one to help the Lady Jaguars take a 23-9 lead into the half.

Chapel Hill came out in the third quarter and gave Stephenson a little of their own medicine by imploring a full court press of their own and it turned out to be quite effective as they limited the Lady Jaguars to just 7 third quarter points.
D. Deshazier and Briana Brown spearheaded the Lady Hornets third quarter comeback as they cut the Stephenson lead to 30-23.
Stephenson would regroup and came out in the forth quarter and turned up the heat on both ends of the floor jumped all over Chapel Hill. An 8-0 run by the Lady Jaguars at the start of the quarter really did in Chapel Hill and they never recovered.

With the score 42-26 and a little under 2:00 minutes left to play in the game both coaches started substituting freely. Stephenson would go on to a convincing win to capture 3rd place in the 2009 DeKalb County MS Tournament of Champions.
