Street Talk “UnKUT”
with Richard Johnson

Thomson High School is located in Thomson, GA tucked away between Atlanta and Augusta. When it comes to sports Thomson H.S and their neighbors down the highway at Washington County H.S. are well known for producing outstanding football players.

Well again like we do we shook out the bushes and found a baller by the name of
Richard Johnson who plays for the Thomson High School “Bulldogs”, so you already know what I did; I made my way down I-20 for a Street Talk with the player they call “Richie Rich”

L.A.: Tell the “Other” players your full name, that way when they get schooled they will remember who schooled them?

Richard: Richard Dwight Johnson II

L.A.: Just in case they can’t remember you full name, do you have a nickname we can throw at them?
Richard: Richie Rich or RJ

L.A.: What school do you attend and what is your school classification (freshman, sophomore etc.)?

Richard: Thomson High School, Thomson, GA and I am a Senior

L.A.: Which AAU program did you play for last summer?

Richard: None, I did summer League basketball with my high school team

L.A.: Are you originally from Atlanta, GA, if not where are you from?

Richard: No, I am from Thomson, Georgia

L.A.:  Who have been some of the most influential people in your life?

Richard: My Mom, Dad, Chuck Graham, and my coach Michael Thomas

L.A.:  What has been one of the most memorable moments in your athletic career so far?
Richard: The 1st Rd of the 2006-07 state playoffs against Carver-Columbus; we went in as the underdogs and I was the back up shooting guard. Coach put me in and I just played my role and helped my team pull the upset win.

L.A.:  What moment(s) would you most like to forget?

Richard: I regret nothing, whenever I have a bad game, I grief about it, but not long because I know we have another game.

L.A.:  Who has been one of the toughest players you ever had to play against and who is the best high school player you personally have ever seen?

Richard: Toughest player I have played against has to be Jerel Stephenson from Glenn Hills High School in Augusta, Georgia. The Best high school player has to be, Greg Monroe I really don’t remember what team he was from.

L.A.: Tell me something about yourself that people wouldn’t know by just looking at you?

Richard: Man…umm…my silly sense of humor, I am a very silly person, but many times I look too serious.

If you leave Johnson free you will get burned.
UnKUT: Not everybody can handle it when you come at them “Un-KUT” but on Street Talk everything is “Un-KUT”, no bias, no allegiances except to GOD and no make believe. Nobody can do you like you, so give it to them “Un-KUT”

L.A.: As an athlete is it easier to get a date or harder?

Richard: Easier, because of the way I appear to be, image wise.

L.A.: You are a basketball recruiter or analyst and you are scouting you, briefly what would your take be on your game:

Richard: Come off screens ready to shoot, can play tight defense, fearless despite difference in size.

L.A.: Who is your favorite teacher in school?

Richard: Kelly Flanders, my British Literature teacher.

L.A.: Which subject do you like most and which subject do you like least?

Richard: I like Brit. Lit. and I dislike Economics

L.A.:  What do you think you need to work on to take your game to the next level?

Richard: Ball handling, I am an okay ball handler but I can not take people off the dribble as frequently as I would like.

L.A.: If you could change anything in the world today what would it be?

Richard: The Economy

L.A.: Ok keep it real now; do you use the fact that you are an athlete to sometimes get your way?
Richard: Yes, sometimes

L.A.: What do you want to do after your basketball career is over?

Richard: Go to school, get a degree and get a good job
