The Cleveland “Cavaliers” lost to the Orlando Magic in game six of the eastern conference finals. The Magic will make their second finals appearance in team history (last in 1995). You would think that would be the main conversation of the eastern conference finals but unfortunately it’s not. The basketball world is upset with the MVP of the NBA Lebron James on leaving the court without shaking the other teams hand and talking to the media.
Lebron James: “Congratulations to the Orlando Magic, they played an unbelievable series and they deserve it. I sent Dwight an email last night to congratulate him. One thing about me guys you got to understand you know, it’s hard for me to congratulate somebody after you just lose to them. I am a winner that’s not being a poor sport or anything like that. Somebody beats you up; you’re not going to congratulate them on beating you up; that just doesn’t make sense. It doesn’t make sense to me, I am a competitor and that’s what I do. It don’t make sense for me to go over and shake somebody hands.”
Dwight Howard: “I just thought he would have said something to me, said something to the team but you know he was probably upset, probably hurt. I understand that perspective, one day we will see each other and I have to wait until then. I was very surprise.”
After every college basketball game the player’s line up and slap five with the other team. It’s also happens in the high school sports baseball, softball, football etc. The governing association would like to see it done in order to promote good sportsmanship but there isn’t set rules that say’s you have to do it.
Kut's Take: What’s happens if you don’t shake hands or say congratulations? Does that make you less of a person? NO! In this particular case it’s simply because it was Lebron James, none of the other players other than Delonte West came over to shake hand or congratulate the Magic but yet we say nothing about that. Delonte and Magic guard Jamir Nelson played college ball together at St. Joseph‘s University so you can understand his reasoning. Where was JJ Hickson? (Lol-just a joke I know JJ) So if anyone has played sports at anytime you have been on both sides of this fence if you have any inch of competiveness in your spirit. I myself hate to lose but I believe in sportsmanship, so I congratulate the other player because I know that it could easily be them congratulating me for the win. What if the Cavs won and Dwight didn’t shake their hands?
Until next time, remember. It’s not my report, it’s Washington's Report.
This is an open page: Let me get your take on the situation. Should Lebron have congratulated the Magic after the game by shaking hands or is it blown out of portion? Holla at me. kutwashington@yahoo.com
Real Talk: Isn’t it wonderful to know that your most feared enemy does not have final control over you. Even if he put you to death, he could not part your soul from Gods love.

What is up Kut,
This is your Boy Puro Pichardo and I have to say this is one of the few times that I disagree with you, as far as the Handshake which is the least of my concerns is that if he won he would have shaken D Howard's hands like he did to Josh Smith and Detroit before that, so if he does not want to shake hands that is cool as long as he does it when he wins and when he losses. The other problem that I have is his explanation I am a winner and a competitor so are over 200 players in the NBA so to me he should have just kept his mouth shut and just let it go, I think his explanation made it worst. But the serious problem I have is the press conference that he skipped, he is the face of the franchise and he always likes to talk so he as a professional has to answer questions when he wins and when he losses that is what a professional does. I do think there are players that do not like to talk to the media so they don't, but they do not talk to them when they lose or when they win, Manny Ramirez is an example he hates talking to the media. So I believe that the message he puts out to his kids is when you win act like a professional and when you lose just be selfish and do what you want. I am the first to say that I am a bad loser, but 5 minutes later I am over it and recognize that it is just a game and they competed just like I did, oh and an email at least call him instead. That is my take on it Mr.. Washington, take care and keep up your outstanding work.

Ok, When you see and play the same people over and over again you build a friendship, dont forget play on the same team to win a medal. These guys visit one another at their homes and meet their families. So when the 2 friends meet on the court, and they are talking mess to one another all you are thinking about is not losing to your Friend , and when it happens you wanna find the nearest door or rock to hide under. When I get over losing to my friend or friends I will call them an congratulate them!!! I think all true friends will understand that some take defeat better than others ! SO, Listen don't judge until YOU ARE IN THAT LOSING SPOT AND THE WINNER IS YOUR FRIEND!

I think Lebron was just mad. I know I don’t like to shake hands after I lose but hey it’s part of the game.

That’s why the Magic in the playoffs and the Cavs are not. Lebron try to come off as this great guy but says he can’t shake the man hand. You should show sportsmanship I don’t care whatever the results are.

Most times it really don’t matter people just talking about it because it’s Lebron! We will forget about it soon as the finals start.

I think Dwight shouldn’t have said anything. Don’t entertain a loser, that’s just like a hater. Let them haters be. Magic all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!
