Finals - LSU vs. Tennessee
Tennessee's Tye'sha Fluker and Aubrey Guastalli hold up the SEC poster while Nicky Anosike holds the championship throphy.
As the Bi-Lo Center in Greenville, SC started to fill up for the 2005 SEC Championship game between the No. 1 ranked and top seeded “Lady Tigers” from LSU and the No. 5 ranked and 2nd seeded “Lady Volunteers” from Tennessee the atmosphere started to feel like that of the finals of the NCAA Championship Game.

Semi-Finals - Tennessee vs. Vandebilt

When the ball went up these two in-state rivals got after it.
Not only was this game to see who was going to be playing in the SEC Championship Game against No.1 LSU but Tennessee and Vanderbilt are also in-state rivals so bragging rights were also on the line, so with all of that at stake the “Lady Vols” and “Lady Commodores” got right after it.

Tasha Humphrey quickly came out and made up for her foul prone performance on Friday night against Ole Miss scorching LSU with 3 quick jumpers in the paint to give the “Lady Bulldogs” an 8-3 lead. So dominant was Humphrey that LSU Head Coach Pokey Chapman quickly inserted her freshman McDonald’s All-American 6-5 Syliva Fowles.

2nd Rd - Georgia vs. Ole Miss
Former GAC star Sherill Baker hits this fall away over Elle Buchanan for 2 of her 17 points or Georgia.
The “Lady Bulldogs” from Georgia jumped out to a 6-2 lead over Ole Miss getting two hoops from junior Alexis Kendrick and their highly touted freshman Tasha Humphrey. The “Lady Rebels” settled down and got back into the game cutting the lead to 8-7 on a jumper by Elizabeth Cansdale

2nd Rd - Auburn vs. Tennessee
"Rookie" Alexis Horbuckle makes a move in the paint Auburn rookie Aileen Rossouw.
The “Lady Tigers” from Auburn took full advantage of Tennessee being less than full strength with a couple of their high school All-American freshman out with injuries, jumping out to a 6-2 lead on baskets by Natasha Brackett and Marita Payne. Despite not being at full strength the “Orange & White are still the Tennessee “Lady Volunteers” and are still coached by one of the best hoop minds in the country in Head Coach Pat Summit.

2nd Rd - Alabama vs. LSU
LSU's 5-3 point-guard Temeka Johnson blows past Alabama's 6-4 center Krystle Johnson.
The No.1 ranked “Lady Tigers” from LSU had their hands full with the “Lady Crimson Tide” from Alabama, falling behind 5-2 as the inside play of Alabama's sophomore Navonda Moore and the shooting of senior Monique Bivins sparked the early lead.

2nd Rd - Arkansas vs. Vanderbilt
Former Rockmart H.S. star Caroline Williams drilled to quick 3-pointers for Vanderbilt.
The defending SEC Tournament Champions from Vanderbilt jumped out to a quick 5-0 lead on a three-pointer by Caroline Williams who hails from Rockmart, GA. Arkansas responded with a tree-pointer of their own by Rochelle Vaughn making the score 5-3. Williams was feeling it early drilling her second three-pointer of the game putting Vandy up 8-3.
