St. Pius X vs. Northside-Warner Robins
Coming into the Class 4A semifinal, Northside-Warner Robins had a fairly easy route with two shutouts. The Golden Knights of St. Pius X traveled another road. In their previous game, the Knights had to stage a comeback to make it to the Georgia Dome. The two teams went head to head in a battle that went down to the wire.

Dublin vs. Lovett
Well, one would tend to think that any team playing in the semifinals, in the dome for a shot at a state championship would at least show up. As the Dublin Fighting Irish prepared to face the Lovett Lions, from appearances, both teams looked good. It looked like we might have a battle on our hands. But as the great L.A. said, “Looks can be deceiving, Klapp.”

The Class AA semifinal matchup had all the makings of a classic from the get-green. Early County Bobcats bring with them a potent offense led by quarterback, Emmanuel Taylor, while the Indians of Charlton County boasts one of the top players in the state in quarterback, Dwight Dasher. With these two generals running the show offensively, we’re bound to have a shootout. Right?

Chamblee vs. Dunwoody
 |
| Superstitions??? What superstitions??? |
For the superstitious, the date signifies bad things. On a cold October night, this Friday the 13th would have an altogether different meaning for the Dunwoody Wildcats. But there must have been ladders and black cats throughout Chamblee High School because for the Bulldogs, it would signify bad things. Very bad things.

North Gwinnett vs. Peachtree Ridge
 |
| What a night to vent! Still ranked number 1. |
The game between the North Gwinnett “Bulldogs” versus the Peachtree Ridge “Lions” was nothing nice. Head Coach Bob Sphire would lead his team in to hostile territory (Suwannee, GA) to take on a 4-2 Lions team while the Bulldogs looked to continue their winning streak at 6-0 and hold the title as the No. 1 ranked team in class 5-A.

Atlanta Football Classic - FAMU vs. TSU
 |
| The 18th one might be the best one so far... |
The 18th Annual Atlanta Football Classic may very well go down as the most “classic” game in the rich tradition of this annual HBCU slugfest. The Florida A&M Rattlers squared off against the Tennessee State Tigers in an epic overtime battle that the fans and alumnae are going to be talking about for years to come.

GAC vs. Buford
 |
| D-1 line on both sides of the ball. |
The most talked about game of the week was between 2nd ranked power house program Buford Wolves versus 3rd ranked Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans. With both teams entering the match up undefeated, it was sure that one had to lose. The Wolves defense held Caleb King to 57 yards and sacked Lee Chapple five times in the first half. I called L.A....

 |
| GAC DL-Jordan Longoria and DL-Javod Sewell close in on QB-Donte Gibson. |
In all actuality GAC would have beaten Cross Keys even without Caleb King but it might have been somewhat closer but as soon as King (the nations top ranked tailback) enrolled at GAC this game became a total mismatch.

 |
| St. Pius FB-Tyler Fisher led a ball control ground attack to beat Tucker. |
The “Golden Lions” from St. Pius entered the game against Tucker having loss the last 4 times they have met, being outscored 116 - 41. So they knew going in that trying to out score the “Tigers” was not a good formula for victory.

Last week Stephenson a Class 5A school slipped up and gave away a game to McNair High School now a Class 3A school, well they weren’t about to let the same thing happen against Class 3A Towers.
