2007-08 GHSA State Championships
3A Finals - Carrollton vs. Kendrick (Girls)
 |
| Kendricks celebrates at midcourt after winning the Class 3A State Championship. |
Macon, GA - To say that Kendrick Head Coach Sterling Hicks and his Cherokees have been frustrated over the last few years when it comes to the Class 3A State playoffs would be an understatement, especially because a couple of those Kendrick teams have been ranked No.1

2A Finals - East Laurens vs. Wesleyan (Boys)
 |
| Wesleyan's Tanner Smith walks off the court a champion after leading the Wolves to the Class 2A Title. |
Macon, GA – When Wesleyan’s 6-5 senior and 4SHOT Hoops All-Star Tanner Smith and the rest of his teammates watched 6-9 Howard Thompkins (a 4SHOT Hoops All-Star and UGA signee) hit the court landing hard on his backbone after being bodied out of the paint by East Laurens Antwan Bailey, it woke up the beast in them, especially Smith who went off for 27 points.

2A Finals - Wesleyan vs. Paideia (girls)
 |
| Lady Wolves would claim their fourth state title in five years. |
The game between the Wesleyan “Lady Wolves” versus the Paideia “Lady Pythons” was over before it got started. The Lady Wolves have won three out of the last 4 state titles and look to reclaim their crown after losing to Greater Atlanta Christian in last years championship. Well nevertheless the game had to be played. The rebirth of the Lady Wolves to the throne.

1A Finals - Hancock Central vs Turner Co (Boys)
 |
| History! 1st school title! |
The game between the Turner County “Rebels” versus the Hancock Central “Bulldogs” would feature to new faces in the class 1-A title game. One thing for sure, a new team would be making history for their school. The edge appeared to go to the Rebels and Coach Eric Holland in the coaching department. The Bulldogs would bring in their outside shooting and paint dominance to electrify the crowd.

1A Finals - Terrell Co. vs. Calvary Day (girls)
State championships are won by the team who earns it while playing against that opponent, not by history or a gaudy record. That is why Calvary Day earned it's first state championship by defeating the powerful Lady Greenwave of Terrell Co.

5A Finals - Redan vs. Stephenson (Girls)
 |
| The Lady Jaguars "Finished the Drill" capturing their 2nd Class 5A Title in four years. |
Duluth, GA - I would like to say that Redan’s youth and inexperience played a big role in their Class 5A Championship loss to their rivals from Stephenson and to some extent it may have, but in reality at the end of the day it was Stephenson’s talent and aggressive play led by 4SHOT Hoops All-Stars Jylisa Williams and Taylor Turnbow that gave Head Coach Dennis Watkins and his Lady Jaguars their 2nd Class 5A State Championship.

5A Finals - Norcross vs. Wheeler (Boys)
 |
| Coach Eddie Martin accepts his third consecutive state trophy. |
One of the most anticipated class 5-A games of all time. In the pass 10 years, no schools have had more success as the Norcross “Blue Devils” and the Wheeler “Wildcats”. The Blue Devils will be challenging for their third consecutive state title. The Wildcats last title would come in 2005. One thing about it, one of these schools would add more hardware to their already stunning trophy case.

 |
| Who you think next? (l-r) Al-Farouq Aminu and Denzail Jones. |
The four hour trip for the Savannah “Blue Jackets” to take on the defeating class 5-A champs; the Norcross “Blue Devils would turn out to be a trip worth making or a long sad trip back. Nonetheless the game had to be played. The Blue Devils would be looking to make it to the finals to capture their third straight state title.

5A SemiFinals - Wheeler vs. Hiram (Boys)
 |
| Richard Howell and Phil Taylor having a conversation. I wonder what he asked him (Savannah or Norcross)? |
It was really over before it started. The Wheeler Wildcats have won the state title so many time in the last 8 years I would have to count later. The thing about it they would have to go through the Hiram Hornets who beat Stephenson 70-65.
