Three former DeKalb County high school track & field champions are in Beijing, China seeking gold as in the Olympic Gold Medal. Dee Dee Trotter from Cedar Grove H.S. and a pair of former Southwest DeKalb Panthers; Angelo Taylor and Terrance Trammell are in Beijing to once again represent the United States in the 2008 Olympics.

Norcross, GA - The name Gary Charles is synonymous with AAU Basketball around the country, hailing from the Roosevelt section of Brooklyn, NY; Charles started the AAU program known as the Long Island Panthers; nowadays they are known as the New York Panthers and are one of the most renowned AAU teams around.

Former UGA star running back Kregg Lumpkin is now in a position to make his childhood dreams of playing in the NFL come true, after an injury plagued career at the University of Georgia, Lumpkin went undrafted in this years NFL Draft but he had shown enough promise during his UGA days that the Green Bay Packers made him a priority free-agent signing.

The other day while I was getting my workout on at the SAMSON’s Fitness Center I ran into three former big baller’s from the Lithonia High School “Bulldogs” football team (DT/OT-Brian Bridges: 6’3” - 305, DT/OG-Devon Collins: 6’3” - 315 and DE-Brandon Harris:6’3” - 240) who were in the weight room banging out the weights

At first glance we didn’t know if it was real because it appeared to be to good to be true, not his football stats but is early life calling to minister.

Chicago, Illinois is renowned for producing some of the best high school hoop talent in the country and when the “Old Gold” 17U AAU Team from the “Windy City” took the floor at the Atlanta Basketball Classic you got a glimpse of some that talent in the form of 6-5 Calvin Brock from Chicago Simeon High School and 5-11 Stephon Hannah from Chicago Hyde Park.
