Class 5-A Semifinals - N. Gwinnett vs. Walton
Michael Tamburo is building the ultimate resume.
Atlanta
, GA – The Bulldogs entered the game off a close victory over Newnan 38-35. The Walton Raiders duplicated their victory over ML King 20-19 with a close one. Would the state semifinals match up between these two teams be a close one as well?

Class AAA Semifinals - Cairo vs. North Hall
Atlanta, GA – Well you know it was a playoff atmosphere when the Cairo “Syrupmakers” fans start battling the North Hall “Trojans” fans for position before the game actually began. I don’t know if the Trojans had any biscuits but a sweet game it was.

Cass AA Semifinals - Cook vs. Lovett
Ricco Brown, Johnny Topping and Adam Whitlock are all seniors and they more than made up for last years semifinals embarerassment
They say that things are better the second time around and for Lovett that saying couldn’t be more true because when the “Lions” hit the Georgia Dome turf last year for the first time against Dublin they got cooked. Ahhh, but this the second time around was NICE...real Niccce!

Class AA Semifinals - Buford vs. Dublin

Buford's Demetrius Murray and Twoey Hosch have an eye on an undefeated season and a state championship ring
Former ABC Hall of Fame broadcaster Keith Jackson use to refer to massive overpowering college linemen as “Bell Cows”, well he would have done the same thing if he had seen the linemenat Buford. I mean they have “Bell Cows” all up and down their offensive and defensive lines and against Dublin their mission was to seek and destroy.

Class 4A Semifinals - Northside-WR vs. Tucker
I wrote the story but I still can't believe what happen in the second half of this game..UNBELIEVABLE!
Atlanta, GA – The Class AAAA semifinals game between undefeated Northside Warner-Robins and undefeated Tucker was the match-up everyone was waiting to see and the fans got their monies worth, actually seeing two different games. Game 1 was the first-half, less Northside-WR quarterback Marques Ivory and Game 2 which was the second half with Marques Ivory at the helm for the “Eagles”.

Class AAA Semifinals - Chamblee vs. Carver-Col

Carver-Columbus QB-Deron Furr and WR-Jarmon Fortson led a furious 4th quarter comeback to be Chamblee
The Tigers of Carver-Columbus brought their unblemished record into the Georgia Dome to face the one-loss Chamblee Bulldogs.  Chamblee’s lone loss came at the hands of Westminster in region play but they were able to overcome the defeat to reach the semi’s in the dome.  The Tigers have, been dominant all season and looked to continue that dominance during the postseason.

Class A Semifianls - Clinch Co. vs. ECI

Washaun Ealey led his team onto the Georgia Dome field and scored 4 TD's
The undefeated “Bulldogs” from Emanuel County Institute hit the Georgia Dome against 11-2 Clinch County like the Georgia “Bulldogs” did against the Auburn “Tigers”. Now they didn’t have on black jerseys but everything else looked the same as they rode the wings of their fleet-footed All-State tailback Washaun Ealey…sound like the UGA “Bulldogs”….you already know.

Class A Semifinals - Athens Acad. vs. Wilcox Co.

Wilcox Co. LB-Paul Grace puts a big hit on Athens Acad. RB-Will Callaway
Atlanta, GA – The final score was lopsided but the game was played closer than the score indicate. Athens Academy put up a gallant effort but at the end of the day Wilcox County’s speed and quickness on both sides of the ball was too much for them to deal with.

Miles College vs. Morehouse College

Morehouse finishes with best record (7-3) since 2001
In the last game of the 2007 season against Miles College, the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse had a few things to play for.  Not only was it Parents’ Day, but it was also an opportunity to close out the year with seven wins, the most for Morehouse since the 2001 season.

Centennial vs. Chattahoochee

Centennial sits alone at the top of 6B-AAAAA
The Chattahoochee Cougars (7-2, 3-1) appeared primed and ready to take sole possession of the top spot in 6B-AAAAA region Friday night as they welcomed the Centennial Knights (6-3, 4-0) for a regional showdown at the “Hooch”.  The Knights needed a win to put the nail in the coffin for their regional standings, but Centennial had plans of doing a little hammering of their own.
