2006 Girls State Meet
Class AAAAA State Meet
Collins Hill recapture the Class 5A Championship that they won back in 2003.
Collins Hill won the Class 5A state title but the meets top performance was easily turned in by Meadowcreek’s outstanding 800 Meter runner Brittany Hall. Hall only a junior ran like a mustang in an open meadow and when she crossed the finish line she a had a gold medal and the best high school time in the country.

Class AAAA State Meet
St. Pius X heads to the winners stand to pick up their championship trophy.
The “Lady Golden Lions” from St. Pius X squeezed out every point they could and outpointed SWD 52-48 to win the Class 4A State Track & Field Championship. Expected points in the 300 Hurdles lost during the regionals really hurt SWD's chances going into the meet.

The "Lady Trojans" from Carrollton win back-to-back Track & Field Championships.
The “Lady Trojans” from Carrollton knew going into this meet that they were going to have a tough time defending their Class AAA Championship, especially with Therrell and all of their speed breathing down their necks.

Memebers of Decatur's winning 4x400 Relay team proudly display their gold medals.
The Lady Bulldogs from Decatur H.S. literally cleared several hurdles to win the schools first state Track & Field Championship this past weekend in Albany, GA. Led by their defending 100 Meter Hurdles Champion Bree Bennett who not only defended her 100 Meter Hurdles crown in a time of 14.60, she also captured the 300 Meter Hurdles gold

Our Lady of Mercy's Leigh Burton crosses the line to win the gold in the 100M Hurdles.
The “Lady Bobcats” from Our Lady of Mercy High School showed no mercy in winning the school’s first Track & Field State Championship, besides the team trophy they took home 7 individual titles, 6 between three performers.

5-5A Track & Field Championships (Girls)
McEachern's 4x100 anchor pulls away as the Lady Indians" capture the region title.
Sprayberry’s Taylor Adams doubled in the meet winning the 800 and 1600 Meters. Adams is the states defending 1600 Meter champion. By winning the 800 Meters she will also get a chance to take care of some unfinished business in the 800 Meters where she finished 2nd in the state championship last year.

5-3A Track & Field Championships (Girls)
Therrel's Jasmine Scank and Blessed Trinity's Caroline Kirk battle in the 3200 Meters.
When the dust at the Region 5-3A Track & Filed Championships cleared 2 teams were left standing holding the championship trophy, the Blessed Trinity "Lady Titans" and the "Lady Panthers" from Therrell. A 5th place finish by the BT 4x400 Team gave them the needed points to tie Therrell.

5-4A Track & Field Championships (Girls)
SWD's Brittney Robbins takes the hand-off from teammate Deonna Bailey on their way to the 5-4A title.
Racquel “The Daily Double” Daly
captured the 800 and 1600 Meter races to lead the “Lady Panthers” from Southwest DeKalb High School to the 2006 Region 5-4A Championship. In all the “Lady Panthers” captured 4 individual titles and won both the 4x100 and 4x400 relay events to finish with 141 points.

The 2006 Atlanta Track Classic - Girls

Sophomore Brittany Long from Therrell pulls away from Danielle Dottery (B.E. Mays) and Christina Henry (N. Atlanta) in the 100M.
The “Lady Raiders” from B.E. Mays scored 55 points in the field events and needed every one of them to hold off the “Lady Panthers” from Therrell and that frightening speed they possess, 135 points to 122 points. Therrell only managed 12 points in the field events. North Atlanta finished 3rd with 60 points.

2005 Boys State Meet
2005 - GA Olympics XXXIV (Class A)
Johnson County's Brad Moorman won the 110 High Hurdles just ahead of Pelham's Shon Atkins who later won the 300 IHH.
The “Hornets” from Pelham H.S. did enough stinging on Friday and Saturday to come away with the schools 1st State Track & Field Championship.
