Wheeler David Gonzalvez would answer back with a three and the three-point contest would begin. James Florence would get a steal and a put back for Wheeler, followed by a three-pointer to close his own 5-0 run. The quarter would end with the score, Wheeler15 Newton 8. In the second quarter, Wheeler would come out scorching. Sharaud Curry would score the first 2 points to launch a 20-2 run. Curry would follow with a three-pointer and teammate J.T. Tiller would play horse, following with a three pointer of his own. Curry would score a quarter high 8 points and Wheeler would be too much. The Wildcats would go into the half allowing Newton to score only 2 points in the quarter. At the half the score would be Wheeler 33 Newton 10. With 3:45 left in the fourth quarter, Wheelers coach Doug Lipscomb would pull his starters and that would call it a night. Final Score: Wheeler 75 Newton 48.
