4SHOT Sports Championship Games 5-A (Girls) State Championship Finals Collin Hills “Lady Eagles” vs. Redan “Lady Raiders” Gwinnett Arena – Duluth, GA Eagles Fly Away With The Championship To start the game off both stars would score first for their teams. Phillips would score the first 2 points of the game from the line and Moore would score on 1 of 2 from the line. With 2:28 left in the first quarter, Moore would go on a 6 point run of her own to push the score far out at 18-5 and Redan would call a timeout. After the timeout, Moore would hit a three pointer and the air would go out of the building. (First Quarter: Collins Hills 21, Redan 7) Moore would finish the first quarter with 12 points. Moore would continue her rage in the second quarter with a three to push the score to 24-7. Phillips would show up on the scoreboard with a turn around jumper but the Lady Eagles were just too much in the second quarter. Redan would mustard up 17 points in the quarter and the score at the half would be Collin Hills 32 Redan 24. Collins Hill would come out the locker room still smoking. The Lady Eagles would go on a 15-4 run, causing Redan to call a timeout with 3:35 left in the third quarter. After the timeout, Amani Franklin would hit three free throws and Redan would go a 14-4 run to trim the lead down to 13 points going into the fourth to the score 55-42. In the fourth quarter, Redan would cut the score to single digits on a jumper from Assunta Fulgham 57-48 with 3:45 left in the fourth quarter. That would be as close as the Lady Raiders would get, for Shantell Black would hit 2 free throws for the Lady Eagles and teammate Ashley Austin would do the same to seal the victory for the new 2005 girls 5-A Champions. Final Score: Collins Hill 69 Redan 52. Scoring Recaps Collins Hill Maya Moore 24 points and Ashley Austin 14 points.
