adidas Superstar Camp 2005 Wallace Prather Jr. Memorial All-Star Classic Crittenton honors fallen leader with MVP Performance Northview High School - Duluth, GA

The Adidas Superstars Camp paid homage to former Atlanta Celtics founder Wallace Prather Jr., who passed away on June 18, 2005 by naming their All-Star Game after him. The game is played at the end of the camp and features the top players from the camp some of who also happen to be among the top high school ballers in the country.
It seemed only fitting that one of players that Wallace had a chance to help nurture as an Atlanta Celtic step up and put on a show and one did, Jarvis Crittenton from Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. Crittenton who early in the week committed to play for Coach Paul Hewitt (who was a very close friend of Prather’) and the Georgia Tech “Yellow Jackets” following his senior season next year capped off a great camp by scoring a game high 25 points and dishing out 7 assists as he led the White-Superstars Team to victory enroot to being selected the games “Most Valuable Player”.
You could kind of sense that Crittenton was going to have a big game because he came attacking the hole right out of the gate and when he scored the first basket of the game you knew it was going to be his day.

High School teammates Wayne Ellington (Episcopal Academy, PA) and Gerald Henderson (Episcopal Academy, PA) played on opposite teams as they took turns scoring; Henderson high-rising dunk gave the White-Superstars an early 6-4 lead.
Crittenton scored 2 more hoops as his team increased their lead to 10-6. D.J. Augustin who is a super point-guard out of Brother Martin H.S. in New Orleans, LA showed off his skills sticking a long jumper then he hit Ellington with an assist as the Blue-Superstars tied the game at 14-14.
That would be the last tie of the game as the White-Superstars went on a scoring binge as they started drilling three’s from everywhere. First Lawrence Westbrook (last year he played at Chandler H.S., AZ but will probably be attending a prep school in the fall) hit one then a few moments later 6-9 James Keefe (Santa Margarita Catholic H.S., CA), who is a real beast stepped outside and drained two back-to-back that helped build up a 27-16 lead with just over 12:00 minutes to play in the half.

| James Keefe has a big-time game. |
With 6:00 minutes left in the half Jawan Carter (Tatnell School, DE) joined the list of “Rain Makers” with another three-pointer that gave the White-Superstars a commanding (I say commanding because who’s going to play defense in a all-star game) 45-25 lead. Despite the lopsidedness of the game 6-8 Thaddeus Young (Mitchell H.S., TN) of the Blue-Superstars continued be impressive as he showed off his athleticism.
As is the case in most all-star games when the score gets out of hand it becomes “Show Time”, so Stanley Robinson a 6-8 jumping-jack from Hoover High School in Birmingham, AL got loose and threw down a pair of monstrous dunks to help keep the crowd interested as the White-Superstars took a 62-46 lead into the half.
As the 2nd half got underway Jawan Carter drilled two more three-pointers giving him four in the game as the White-Superstars lead continued to grow. Gerald Henderson continued to show off his hops as future coach Mike Krzyzewski from Duke looked on.

Quietly but noticeably the 6-11Lopez twins Brook and Robin from San Joaquin Memorial H.S. in Fresno, CA did a decent job inside combining for 16 points and 22 rebounds for the White-Superstars as they went to war against 6-7 strongman Pierre Niles (Ridgeway, H.S., TN). The Blue-Superstars 6-7 Quincy Pondexter (San Joaquin Memorial H.S) who teamed up with Brook and Robin in high school has had a strong summer and you can see why with his ability to put the ball on the floor and get his shots off.
As the clock began to wind down you could tell that it had been a long week for the players as they all looked like they were ready to get back home to get rejuvenated with some home-cooking and a chance to sleep in their own beds before they head off to put in some more work with their respective AAU Teams. The final score was 139-111 in favor of the White-Superstars.
