Tragedy hits Niagara Falls

Good job Big Man, now RIP!

The remainder of the Best of Summer tournament was cancelled Thursday after Miguel Respress a senior to be at Niagara Falls H.S. died after playing a game with the GC Ballers AAU team in California.

According to reports out of California the 6-7 Respress had just finished playing in a game when he collapsed outside of the Pavilion at Loyola Marymount. Paramedics were called to the scene, but they were unable to revive Respress. Respress was having a great summer before this tragedy and was being looked upon to help lead the Niagara Falls H.S. "Wolverines" back to the state championship which they won last season.

I'm originally from Niagara Falls and I got the news from my cousin Michael Hamilton who is very close to all of the players that come through the High School program last night and needless to say everyone up there is still in stock over this devastating event.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Miguel, Rest in Peace, Big Man.
