4SHOT Sports Girls Hoops - 2006 Lady Cougars Win a Nail Biter Moss 30 points not enough Norcross High School – Norcross, GA The lady’s Pre-season competition would continue to take place, as teams get ready for opening day. Tonight’s match up between the Norcross Lady Blue Devils versus the Southwest Dekalb Lady Panthers would go down to the wire. Can the Lady Panthers pull out a victory with their backs against the wall? Lets see. On the Lady Blue Devils side of the ball would feature 4SHOT Hoops Girls number 47 rank player in the state, D’Andra Moss. (Following insert taking from the 4SHOT Hoop Magazine via L.A. Williams) Moss has the skills to play inside or out, she can handle the ball well and is a real scorer topping the 20-point mark several times last season. Has committed to play for the “Lady Rams” of Virginia Commonwealth University after her senior season this year. Moss Factor: Moss would score a total of 30 points in the game and score all 7 of her teams points in the second quarter. With 2:15 to go in the game the Lady Panthers would apply the full court press, causing the Lady Blue Devils to turn the ball over twice and Southwest Dekalb would go on a 6-0 run in less than 25 seconds off the clock, leading to a time out for Norcross coach Mike Lee. (Score: SWD 53 Norcross 46) After the timeout, the tables would turn and then comes the ‘Moss Factor’. Down by 5 points to the score 54-49, Moss would bring the ball up the court for the Lady Blue Devils with 25 seconds left in the game and dishes off to teammate J Godwin to cut the lead to 2 54-52. After miss free throws by the Lady Panthers, Moss would drive the ball the length of the court and with 1.2 seconds left on the clock nail the jumper to send the game into overtime (Wow). In overtime the game would change leads three times with the last lead going to the Lady Panthers. The Lady Panthers would be down by 2 59-61 with 36 seconds left in overtime, when K Rivers would hit a big three-points from E.R. house to put her team up 62-61 and seal the victory for SWD.
