Red Devils Too Much

The Randolph-Clay Red Devils have won the state championship in two different classes (A-AA). The Red Devils would take their 67-0 record to Alabama to see if the Eufaula Tigers could end the steak. Kut Note:  Senior Martavious Allen is ranked number 6 in the state of Georgia via 4SHOT Hoops Burning 50.

The Tigers from Eufaula Alabama was no match for the defending Class A and AA champs from Randolph Clay. The Red Devils would enter the match up with a swagger and the crowd would back their team with the same intensity.

The Red Devils would be lead by team captain and 4SHOT Hoops number 6 ranked player in Martavious Allen. Allen is a complete all around player, that can score from anywhere on the floor and looks to crash the boards, while getting teammates involved. With the absence of last year’s star players in Lancie Cannon and Shamaine Dukes the weight falls on Allen. Super sophomore Dexter Ellington is another score emerging on the Red Devils team that will provide crucial scoring off the bench. With star senior Rashard Lewis being the Red Devils only big man threat in the paint, look for the boys’ team to arrive back at the top, starting with the Tigers of Eufaula High.

The Tigers wouldn’t back down as they would get on the boards first with a three-pointer from Maurice Jackson followed by 2 free-throws from the big man Michael Young giving them the early 5-0 lead to put the Red Devils backs against the wall. The Red Devils Rashard Lewis would pick up 2 early fouls with only 2:47 played into the first period sending him to the bench and Ellington into the game. The Red Devils would be powered in the first period by Cornelius Price 6 points in the paint and would close out the first period on top 24-19.

In the second period Lewis would enter the game, playing smart on defense and scoring 8 points before going into the half. Allen would take a hard foul as he was going up for a defensive rebound and would have to come out slowing down the production for the Red Devils. At the half Randolph-Clay 50 Eufaula 36.

The third period would open up with a long three-pointer from Dexter and the Red Devils would run out the game. Game Notes: Eric Thomas and Eddie Walker would play big in the back court.

Final Score: Randolph-Clay 75 Eufaula 66
