Victory Christian Gymnasium – Conyers, GA Mt. Vernon forward Scottie Clay turned on the burners scorching Victory for a game high 24 points while riding the boards for 11 rebounds keeping the Eagles playing catch up for most of the contest. The lead changed several times during the remainder of the first period with guard Matt Manry supplying the fire power for the Crusaders while Jones countered for the Eagles getting the feed from Ludlow and going in for a over-the-head twisting lay up just before the whistle ended the period putting Victory up 15-14. The Eagles ran the floor getting crucial points from Chris Williams who hit on a couple of three-pointers while Umphrey went on a shot blocking exhibition knocking away three of his game high seven Mt. Vernon attempts to stay close before Clay went to work for Mt. Vernon to give them a 34-31 lead at the half. The Eagles tried desperately to come back with Ludlow starting the fourth period hitting an NBA three-pointer, but Clay and company was just too much for the Eagles to bear and the Crusaders ran away with the victory. The Game: Mt. VernonScottie Clay put in 24 points and grabbed 11 rebounds; Andrew Wilson contributed 12 points; Bradley Hall and Chris Thompson dropped in 11 points each, Thompson grabbed 5 rebounds.
