Snellville, GA (Comets Gymnasium)

Day 1 – Round 1

Peachtree Ridge High School “Lions” 57 vs. South Gwinnett “Comets” 50

Zachary Graham 6'5 Jr. F aka "Baby Paul Harris" (You got to feel me L.A.) / Cameron Heyward 6'6 Jr. F / Bassey Inameti 6'8 Jr. F/C (On Da Bricks)
Delano Howard open up the game with a three pointer to get the Comets on a roll. Zachary Graham would then go on a 10-0 run of his own moving the score to 10-3, scoring 8 straight points in the first period. Kut Note:  Zachary Graham a super junior reminds you of a baby Paul Harris (LA you feel me).  That boy Bassey Inameti a Meadowcreek transfer was a beast on the boards and above the rim (you seen him "On Da Bricks"). Inameti finished with 2 dunks, one to give the Lions the lead 33-32 with 3:36 to go in the third period. The three time champs would not have enough in the end to defend the title and would have to move into the losers bracket. A new champion will be crown this year.

Peachtree Ridge
Zachary Graham finished with a monster 25 points and Bassey Inameti followed with 8 points.

South Gwinnett
Delano Howard would finish with a team high effort with 12 points. Nick Gil 11 points, Mike Chatman 10 points and Avery Jukes 9 points 5 Blocks 8 rebounds.

Spartanburg High School “Vikings” (Spartanburg, SC) 57 vs. Fredrick Douglass “Astros” 55

Sr.-Rory Spencer (Douglass) and So.-Omar Sanders (Spartanburg)
The game would go down to the wire. The Astros Rodney Wright would make a last second attempt to win the game with a three pointer with 7 seconds left in the game but come up an inch short. The Vikings Danny Jones would sink the winning basket for his team and the team from South Carolina lives to play another day.

Spartanburg
James Arledge would finish with a team high 18 points, followed by teammate Danny Jones with 15 and a game winner.

Frederick Douglass
Julian English
14 points would be the high for the Astros and Reggie Slaton 12 points would follow second.
