Deep South Classic

Let it rain Three-pointers

Snellville, GA (Brookwood Gymnasium)

Day 2 – Round 2

Northwest Whitfield 65, Pace Academy 51

Lauren Falohun 5'9 Senior PG / Vanessa Jackson 5'6 Senior G
The game would looked to be all Pace Academy on paper. The Lady Knights would feature the 4SHOT Hoops Elite number 8 ranked paper in the State Lauren Falohun, along with 6’1 junior Megan Elliot (Street Talk), 6’0 freshman phenom Michelle Ivey and the tables appeared bad for the Lady Bruins from Northwest Whitfield. But hold up, someone forgot to tell the Lady Bruins they weren’t suppose to be that good.

The Lady Bruins would get right to work with the first 2 points of the game coming on a lay up by Vanessa Jackson. Lauren would counter those 2 points with a mid-range jumper for 2 of her on and then the Lady Bruins would bring out the rifles. Brinkley Knowles (2 Three-pointers), Vanessa Jackson (2 Three-pointers), Beth McArthur and Briana Chumley would all nail three pointers in the first half. The Lady Bruins starter the game on a 16-5 run and the Lady Knights would commit 10 turnovers in the first half. With 7 seconds left in the first half Lauren would walk the ball up the court and drain a three-pointer to end the first half score 23-38.

Shelley Taylor would hit a three-pointer in the fourth period for Northwest Whitfield to move the score to 56-35. Done Deal!
