L.A. "Keeping It Real" with Jeremy Lightfoot

The Columbia High School “Eagles” are soaring above the radar this season and one of the reasons is their 6-9 power forward Jeremy Lightfoot. Street Talk was able to catch up with Jeremy a.k.a “Mr. Twix” after a recent game for a session of “Keeping It Real”.

L.A.:  “Who have been some of the most influential people in your life”?
Jeremy: “Really it’s my dad because if it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be anything in basketball. He put the ball in my hands, and Coach Phil McCrary too.”

L.A.:  “What has been your most memorable moment of your career so far?
Jeremy: “It was when I dropped my career high in AAU which was 37 points. I felt so good about myself after that game.”

L.A.:  “What moments would you most like to forget so far in your career?

Jeremy: “When we lost to Tucker High School in the Elite Eight last season.”

L.A.: “What is the strongest part of your game?”

Jeremy: “My leaping ability and post moves.”

L.A.:   “What do you think you need to work on to take your game to the next level?”

Jeremy: “My long range jump shot and my handle.”

L.A.:  “Who has been one of the toughest players you have had to guard?”

Jeremy:  “Randolph Morris from Landmark Christian Academy (now at Kentucky) in my tenth grade year.”

L.A.:  “Without tipping your hand, give me the names of some colleges that you would like to play for?”

Jeremy: ”Georgia Tech, UAB, Alabama, and Georgia State.”

L.A.: “What was the last CD you bought and why?”

Jeremy: “It was Ludicrous, “Disturbing the Peace”. He is my favorite rapper.”

L.A.: “Tell me something about yourself that people wouldn’t know by just looking at you?

Jeremy: “That I'm goofy and I like to play around a lot.”

L.A.: “Do you have a nickname?”

Jeremy: “Most of my teammates call me “Foot” but my real nickname is Mr. Twix. Oh yeah I love that name.”

L.A.: “How does summer ball (AAU) differ from the regular season?”

Jeremy: “Because if you are a top prospect then you can really do what you want to do, but not everything.”

L.A.: “Most AAU Teams have players that play in their natural position unlike high school where most players are out of position. What position do you think you will be playing at the next level?”

Jeremy: “It will be small forward or power forward.”

L.A.:  “I’m going to throw out some word comparisons and I want you to choose one”

Jeremy: “Ok hit me with it.”

L.A.:   “Nike, Reebok or Adidas?”

Jeremy: “I’ve got to have me some Nikes.

L.A.:  “If you could meet anyone in the world who would it be and why?”

Jeremy: “Allen Iverson, because he has the biggest heart I have ever seen in my life. He is the best player in the NBA to me.”

L.A.:  “Escalade, Denali, Corvette, Mercedes or Ferrari or is there another type of car you like?”

Jeremy: “I love my Bentley”

L.A:  “What’s your favorite food?”

Jeremy: “I’ve got to say Fried Chicken, because that’s what I was raised on.”

L.A.:  “Who’s your favorite player?”
Jeremy: “Allen Iverson, Kobe Bryant and Jermaine O’Neal”

L.A.:  “Who’s your favorite team?”

Jeremy: “The Sixers and the Lakers. Oh yeah my Falcons.”

L.A.: “Are you a Player or a BALLER, now at 4SHOT we think Players just go out on the court and play like every other player on the court. Now a BALLER can take over the game, not in a selfish way but they can dominate at “a whole nother’ level?”

Jeremy: “I’m a BALLER, no doubt!!!!!”

L.A.: “How long have you been playing basketball?

Jeremy: “Since I was six years old, playing for Green Forest.”

L.A.: “What type of hobbies do you have?”

Jeremy: “Making beats for my brother’s rap career. Oh yeah I rap too and I am something serious. “

L.A.:Jeremy, thanks for taking the time to “Keep It Real” on Street Talk”

 Jeremy: “Any time, Thank you”
