4SHOT Sports 2006 Georgia State Championships Maya Moore 26 points 19 rebounds 3 blocks 3 assist 2 steals The elite eight game between the Lady Eagles of Collins Hill versus the Mill Creek Hawks would feature outstanding players. The Lady Eagles would carry the upper hand as the 2005 defending champs of Class 5-A. The second-year Lady Hawks would give their best effort in the game, with the winner earning a trip to the final four. The Lady Hawks earning its first berth in the state tournament will be powered by super sophomore guard Porsha Porter and Junior Shelbie Pool. Porter is a great point guard with tremendous handles and can get to the basket. Pool would score from long range and crash the boards for the Lady Hawks. Maya Moore would set the pace for the Lady Eagles and single handedly own the Lady Hawks herself. The 4SHOT Hoops 2005 player of the year was a monster on the boards and unstoppable on the scoreboard. In the first period May Moore and the Lady Eagles would get right to work. In the second period, things would not change in favor of the Lady Hawks as Renee Jackson would put Collins Hill up by 20 points on a lay up with Halftime Score: Collins Hill 47 Mill Creek 20 (Maya Moore 20 points 14 rebounds)
In the third period the game would be done when Renee Jackson would deliver a no look pass to Jordan Jones for two points to put the Lady Eagles up by 50 points. End of the third period 72-24.
The bench would come in fourth period and the Lady Eagles would fly into the final four. Collins Hill will play Redan next in the state final four as a rematch of last years final.
