Shaun Keaton Cold Summer

(The Bad Weather Report)

There is not too many combo guards that can play both position with equal impact. Either he or she is good at the point or great at the shooting guard position. Then came one of the coldest players I ever seen do it in Shaun Keaton. The Westover standout has taking his game to whole nother level. Now his talent moves from East Tennesse State University to Georgia Collge & State University. In order to get into the Cold Summer you have to have the basics. So let's see does Shaun qualify. Let’s cover the basics:

Well, I ripped him 3 times and locked him up for only 6 points.
Full name? Shaundrick Keaton

Nickname? Shaun or Special K

Age? 19

Classification? Sophomore

Where you from? Albany, Georgia

What high school? Westover High

Graduated with a GPA of? 3.8

Principal Name? Gene Melvin

Favorite Teacher / Grade / Subject? Coach Byars/ 11th/ Algebra 2

What well know rap group is from there? Field Mob

Who was the man in your high school your Senior year? Well, I would say my best friend Aairon Savage who plays football for the Auburn Tigers now, but we were always together so you could say we both were

What’s been going on with you for the summer? Just working on my game trying to get better. Lifting hard, doing drills, and trying to prepare mentally.

Become a basketball analyst and scout yourself? Solid all around player, great leadership skills on the court, and best skill is shooting the ball

What have you done this summer to improve what you consider a weak part of your game? Well, since high school I’ve been working on my defense because in college everyone can score, the person who plays and shines is the one who can get it done on both ends of the court.

What does your father tell you about basketball? My father tells me to be more assertive at times and that there isn’t anyone that knows the game better than I do and that’s why I’m at the level that I’m at. “Some may be more athletic and taller than you, but they don’t know the game like you do.”

What’s the toughest player you ever had to face on the collegiate level? Tim Smith, Atlantic Sun Player of the Year, my own teammate. You won’t find a quicker guard that can play with the ball like it’s on a yoyo string like he can.

I know you had an injury during part of the past season. What was the hardest part about that? Well, my injury occurred my second game out of my red-shirt and we were just getting some confidence about ourselves as a team and I felt like I needed to be on the court to help my teammates out. I felt like I was letting them down in a way.

What’s the difference in playing on the collegiate level than in high school? In college, everyone was the superstar on their high school team meaning that everyone in college can play and every night it’s going to be a dog fight

What is life after basketball for you? Hopefully, either coaching a high school team or going into Physical Therapy what I’m in school for.

Who is your favorite NBA player? Bron Bron, he’s a straight up BEAST on the court and he’s only 3 years into the league

What’s your opinion on people comparing Dwayne Wade to Michael Jordan? D Wade showed that he’s going to be great but right now he still has a lot of work to do to be compared to MJ

Which one do you think is the coldest? Allen Iverson crossing up Michael Jordan or Michael Vick splitting two Minnesota Vikings defenders for a touchdown? When A.I got MJ. It was like he was playing with him. A.I did a small one first to see what Jordan was going to do and then he just put MJ on skates. They even made A.I crossover illegal in the league just for him doing Jordan like that. The crossover wasn’t fair to those guarding A.I

What’s the coldest thing you’ve ever done so far in your career? My first game out of my red-shirt we played Central Michigan and my coaches talked about how good and quick this guard was. Well, I ripped him 3 times and locked him up for only 6 points. It showed me that my defense was getting better

This is the part of the segment where we ask you ten questions to see how you score. You can only answer cold or hot….  Let’s Go!

1)      Your girlfriend dumps you for her ex-boyfriend who is in jail? Hot

2)      Your brother wins the lottery the day after he filed for bankruptcy? Cold

3)      Damian Wayans hosting the BET Awards? Hot

4)      You get employee of the month and only thing they give you is a parking space? Hot

5)      22 inch rims on a 96 Honda Civic? Hot

6)      Game seven of the World Series, bases loaded, 9th inning, 2 outs and you have to pitch to Barry Bonds? Cold

7)      Your classmate cheats off your paper and makes a higher grade? Hot

8)      Game six of the NBA finals and your coach Avery Johnson subs you in to guard Shaq? Hot

9)      A billion dollar home with indoor basketball court, indoor pool, Movie Theater, personal chef and a recording studio in Antarctica? Cold

10)  The day of your wedding you forget you drop the ring at the bachelor party the night before? Cold

If you had a choice to live in Alaska or the Sahara Desert which one would it be and why? Sahara Desert, because when the sun starts to go down you go out and ball for a little while but in Alaska it’s always snow on the ground meaning no ball at all

“Happy Mothers Day”
What would you say to your mother on Mothers Day, other than “Happy Mothers Day”? Thanks for putting up with me all these years and thanks for always supporting me during my basketball career through the ups and downs

If you had to trade your vehicle (ride, whip) in for some brand new, what would it be? Nissan Maxima on some 22’s

What’s something about you that if I didn’t ask, no one would know? That I’m quiet and keep to myself off the court

What type of music do you enjoy? Hip hop and R&B

What would be your dream vacation? To Hawaii with my family

If you had the opportunity to meet anyone in the world; who would it be and why? Oprah, because she came into the game at a time when there were very few blacks doing their thing and she held her own. I would just like to talk to her about her experiences and how she made it when times were hard

Let’s do church. Give me a scripture you live by. Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me

Any body you want to shout out? My brothers Sherrod and Shevren (my little brother is going to be a BEAST) and my teammates at GC&SU where we are going to bring that Peach Belt championship home

Thanks for hanging out and like I said before it’s going to be a cold summer? Thank you for taking time out to interview me. I enjoyed it.

Final Cold I.Q Score 30...

Not to Good! Who will be the first to make a 100?
