Hallford Stadium - Clarkston, GA In all actuality this one was over before it started, Stephenson’s Terry Payne returned the opening kick-off 30-yards out to the 41-yard and from there turned it over to teammate RB-Rico Brazil. Brazil ripped off a 43-yard run on his first carry to give the “Jaguars” a first down on the Towers 21-yard line. Then he busted loose for 16 more yards to make it first and goal. Brazil finished off the drive with a short touchdown plunge. The PAT by K-Jonathan Jennings gave Stephenson a quick 7-0 lead. The “Jaguars” defense came out flying all over the field as they smothered the Towers ball-carriers. Big hits by Stephenson LB-Dami Teniola and DB-Andre Leblanc forced Towers to punt from within their own 20-yard line. With Brazil taking a little rest RB-Louis Manning came in and scooted around the left end for a 5-yard touchdown run. Jennings PAT made it 14-0. Although totally outmanned the “Titans” continued to battle, facing a forth-down and one from their own 40-yard line Towers went for it; a big stick by the “Jaguars” DE-Justin McClinton stopped Wallace behind the line of scrimmage, giving the ball back to Stephenson on the Towers 37-yard line. The “Jaguars” didn’t waste any time taking advantage of the field position when on the very next play Brazil took the ball 37-yards to the house for his second touchdown of the game and a 21-0 lead. Towers finally had a little something to cheer about when Williams hit WR-#88 (number not on the roster), who broke a couple of tackles for a first down in Stephenson territory at the 45-yard line. The drive continued when RB-Gabriel Bawwo picked up 10-yards and another first down as the quarter finally came to an end. By the end of the first-half FB-Jeffrey Tarver, who clears the holes for Brazil and Manning scored a pair of touchdowns giving Stephenson a 35-0 lead. Stephenson Head Coach Ron Gartrell called off his chargers in the 2nd half giving the younger players some much needed playing time as Stephenson went on to record the win.
