War Eagles… That’s it…

Will “Go Yard” Darby or Will “The Real Deal” Darby? You decide.

Marist – Atlanta, GA

Last game of the season, leave it all on the field and bring on the playoffs.  Ok so we knew going into the game that the Southwest Dekalb Panthers where the under dogs and least likely to win. Well, there was one thing for sure and that’s when it started they had just as much of a chance as everyone else who fail short to the Marist War Eagles.  With Marist being 14-0 in the region and SWD 5-9 let’s see who improves their record.

Will Darby would be the first batter up for the War Eagles and he would take Brandon Dardy deep over the left field wall on the third pitch in the bottom of the 1st inning putting Marist up 1-0. From that point on it got ugly. The Panthers pitching wasn’t the best and the infield looked very lost at times. I could say things like Brandon Jones would come in to pitch for the Panthers walking 2 batters moving the score to 6-1 in the bottom fifth. With the bases loaded a wild throw down third baseline would bring in 2 runners moving the score to 8-1 and I left.

Final Score: Marist 10 SWD 2

Lions King Over the Wildcats

Duluth High School - Duluth, GA

Seniot Matt Creel 6'0 LHP, once he starts he can't stop! / Creel get's ran over in the run down.
Ok so the Duluth Wildcats are not a baseball powers. Neither is the Peachtree Ridge Lions. Both teams still give it their all around the diamond and when to bad team face each other, one thing for sure someone gets a victory. Who will make the turn around?

Matt Birkbeck would drive in Randy Fender from second base moving the score 2-0 in favor of the Lions in the top of the 2nd inning. The Lions defense would be very alert as they would catch the Wildcats Chandler Pethan in a run down trying to steal second and Chandler would eventually be called out as he runs over starting pitcher Matt Creel in the bottom of the 2nd inning. Chandler would go on to pitch a completer games and his teammates would give him a little more breathing room driving in 2 run in the top of the 6th inning on hits by super sophomores Nathan Chong and Chris Brunatti.

Message of the Week!

Guidance

Text: Psalms 25 when David asked for guidance.  We should not ask for guidance when things are not going good, but we should ask for guidance daily.  When things are good and when things are bad always seek guidance from God as he will direct your paths.  The Bible says “seek ye first the kingdom of God and all it’s righteousness”.  So whatever you do or whatever journey you take, put God first and everything else will fall in place.

PS -Try to read a scripture or a chapter every morning and start your day with the word.  Then watch how God will bless your day!  -Martha Hightower-
