Round 2 aka Sweet 16
Lose two and go home! Uggy Dog
Bulldogs take 3 bites to beat the Rams
Mitch Rider and Travis Echols bat power
North Gwinnett High School – Suwanee, GA
 |
| Travis Echols and Mitch Rider. |
The three game series between the North Gwinnett Bulldogs and the Grayson Rams was a battle of night and day. The Bulldogs would take the first game 11-4. The Rams would not go away forcing a game 3 by winning game two 10-0 behind the strong pitching of Chris Meredith. When it was all said and done, game three was the one to win or go home.
The Bulldogs would jump out to a big first inning scoring 4 runs on a three-run homer by senior catcher Mitch Rider and a solo blast by Travis Echols. With the lead being 4-0 the Bulldogs seemed to have enough room to close the deal but 4 unearned runs on 3 errors gave the Rams a tie game at 5-5 going into the sixth inning. With one inning left to play Rider would hear his name called again as he gets the game winning hit moving the score to 9-5 and the Bulldogs would hold on to win 9-6. The Bulldogs will play Camden County in the Elite 8 May 22 (Get to the game early).
Broncos run pass the Longhorns in 3
Jordan Erisman you are the man.
North Gwinnett High School – Suwanee, GA

| Jordan Erisman and Alex Beebe. |
The three game series between the Brookwood Broncos versus the Kell Longhorns was more than Gwinnett versus Cobb. More like two wins get you into the Elite 8. The Broncos would take the the first game 4-3 and the Longhorns would claim the second game 4-2. When it was all said and done, game 3 was the one to win. The Broncos would start the game behind the arm of Alex Beebe. Can head coach Donnie English squeeze one more win out of his Longhorns?
The game was scoreless for five innings then came the junior shortstop Jordan Erisman who hit his first career homerun in the top of the sixth inning over the leftfield wall to start the scoring. Catcher Seth Adkins would help the cause on a 2 run single and the Broncos would come away 4-0. The Longhorns would cut into the lead with 2 runs but in the seventh, the Broncos would add on a little insurance. Ross Heffley, Troy Snitker and Seth Adkins would get hits to seal the victory. The Broncos move on to play East Coweta in the Elite 8. Final Score: Brookwood 8 Kell 2.
Round 2 Message of the Week!
Mark 8:36 “What good is it for a man to gain the whole world, yet forfeit his soul?”
Situation: Hinesville Bombers little league team was the happiest and most joyful team in the region, even though they received old hand me down uniforms to begin the season. It never bothered them that their uniforms had missing pockets, holes, hat’s different colors and cleats missing spikes. They went on playing hard and finished the season undefeated 25-0. Their last game of the season was against the Midtown Mustangs who arrived to the game on a custom charter bus with TV’s and playstations in every seat. The Mustangs were 0-25 and got off the bus unhappy. One of the players from the Bombers ask the coach,” Why are they not smiling? They have brand new cleats and uniforms.”
