Hornets Sting the Blue Devils

After dropping their season opener to the Pope High School “Greyhounds” (10-3), the Norcross “Blue Devils” looked to turn things around against the Roswell “Hornets”. The Hornets were coming off a loss to power house Blessed Trinity (10-3) and head coach Mike Power cooked up a different recipe for the Blue Devils.

We pick the game up in the top of the fifth inning with the Hornets up 4-3 when Jordan Airich would drive in teammate Derrick Thomas on a blast down third base line to increase the score 5-3.

The Blue Devils bats could never seem to fire up as Hornets star pitcher Zane Evans would get out of a bases loaded jam.

In the top of the sixth inning Zane and Evan Schults would both contribute with sacrifice hits to move the score to 9-3. Then coach Power would summon “Da Closer” Nick Muratore. Final score Roswell 9 Norcross 3.

The Blue Devils will look to get their first win as they face Wheeler High School on Wednesday and the Hornets look to continue their winning ways against McIntosh.
