4SHOT Sports Street Talk - "L.A." Street Talk - “Live in L.A.” DeVonta’ White is a 5-10 point guard who runs the show for the Central Gwinnett High School “Black Knights” in Lawrenceville, GA. Just a junior White has been making noise since he hit the high school scene as a highly touted freshman. Now he is one of the top PG’s in the state. I caught up the All-State performer and got a chance to “Keep it Real” about his game and life. DeVonta: “My parents and coaches.” L.A.: “What has been one of the most memorable moments in your career so far?
DeVonta: “Losing close games.” L.A.: What is the strongest part of your game? DeVonta: “My ball-handling.” L.A.: “What do you think you need to work on to take your game to the next level?” DeVonta: “My strength.” L.A.: “Who has been one of the toughest players you ever had to play against and who is the best high school player you personally have ever seen?” DeVonta: “Louis Williams and Chris Allen.” L.A.: “I don’t know if you know this but your father was one of the best player in the state of Mississippi when he played for Riverside High School in Hollandale, MS back in the day. What type of advice has he given you and does he still have any game left?” DeVonta: ”Keep working hard and to never give up, and yes he thinks he has game.” L.A.: “Tell me something about yourself that people wouldn’t know by just looking at you? DeVonta: “I am really quiet.” L.A.: “Do you have a nickname?” DeVonta: “Yes, Tay & D12.” L.A.: “If you could change anything in the world today what would it be? DeVonta: “To stop the war.” L.A.: “If you could meet anyone (not an athlete) in the world (past or present) who would it be and why? DeVonta: “My Grandmother “Juanita McGee” she passed away before I was born.” L.A.: “Now we are going to do a little something called “CONFESSION” DeVonta: “Easier” (laughing) L.A.: “If you could date any woman in the world who would it be?” DeVonta: “Christina Millian” (smiling) L.A.: “Do you get special treatment at home because you play sports?” DeVonta: “No, I wish!” L.A.: “If you were not an athlete do you think people would treat you different (explain)?” DeVonta: “Yes, because that’s the reason I know a lot of people.” L.A.: “When you step out, do you like to be noticed or recognized (not in swelled head kind of way)? L.A.: “Keep it Real, do you use the fact that you are an athlete to sometimes get your way?” L.A.: “Have you ever backed away from a challenge and later told yourself that that will never happen again?” DeVonta: “No” L.A.: “Who is your favorite teacher in school?” DeVonta: “Ms. Coffey” L.A.: “What subject do you like most and which subject do you like least?” DeVonta: “History the most and Science the least.” L.A.: “Last CONFESSION, if you could sit down with anybody in the world past or present who would it be and what would you talk to the about?” DeVonta: “Allen Iverson, his path to get to the NBA.” Until your next CONFESSION. . . . . . L.A.: “What is your favorite TV Show and Movie?” L.A.: “What type of hobbies do you have?” L.A.: “What type of music do you like and do you have a favorite artist or group?” DeVonta: “Hip Hop, Fabolous and Lil Wayne.” L.A: “What’s your favorite food?” L.A.: “Who’s your favorite player, college or professional (any sport)?”
