Meadowcreek “Mustangs” vs. Parkview “Panthers”

Mustangs Spoil Senior Night

Lookout for Meadowcreek in State Playoffs.

(Parkview High School- Lilburn, GA)

Lilburn, GA - What’s going on at Meadowcreek High School? A question that I asked myself as I ventured over to Parkview High School on Friday night to check out the 22-2 “Mustangs”. Head Coach Billy Davis has his team prime for the state playoffs and look to claim another victory against the 2-13 “Panthers” of Parkview. The only two losses for the “Mustangs” came against the South Gwinnett “Comets” and cross town rivals the Berkmar “Patriots” in which they lost by two points 39-37. The past three years Meadowcreek has been know for it’s boys basketball but know one had a clue that the tradition would continue this year.

The Mustangs would jump out to a 6-0 lead before Panthers Head Coach Tim Watkins would have to get a timeout with 6:46 into the first period. Super Sophomore Dominique McKoy was notorious on the glass and senior point guard Charles Johnson would connect on a big three pointer to keep the Mustangs running. The Panthers wouldn’t go away as it was “Senior Night” and senior point guard Brandon Macon would connect on a pull up jumper and a lay up down the lane to keep Parkview close to end the first period 20-18.

With 4 seconds left in the half, the Mustangs would convert on a last second shot to take a 6 point lead 35-29.

After the half it was all down hill as, the Mustangs senior small forward Jarvaris Brown couldn’t be stopped. The Mustangs would go ahead and seal the victory to complete a super successful season.

Final Score:  Meadowcreek 73  Parkview 58
