A few years ago a young freshman with a nice touch and a good feel for the game by the name of Kelly Marie Turman entered the halls of G.W. Carver High School in Atlanta.

Along with another highly touted freshman Dionne Allen, the two were immediately herald as saviors of the Carver girls basketball team.
Over the last two seasons Kelly, a starting forward since her freshman year has enhanced that sweet jumper of hers, along with the other phases of her game.
The Lady Panthers have improved each season as a result of her improvements. Although Carver fell off some last season Head Coach Natasha Harrigan is excepting big things from her ball club as practice for the 2003 season gets underway.
Kelly is not only an outstanding basketball player but also excels in the classroom. Last year as a sophomore she finished in the top 10% of her class and received an award from the Scholastic Achievement Awards Group.
The Atlanta Tip-Off Club of Atlanta named Kelly as one of the top 200 female players in the state last season as a sophomore. Look for her to once again be listed as one of the top ballers around.
As a freshman Miss Turman was named to the All-Tournament Team in the Arrowhead Thanksgiving Classic at Morrow High School after scoring 30 points in one of the tournament games.
Look for Kelly, Dionne Allen and R. Dorsey to lead the “Lady Panthers” into the state playoffs this season.
