The Legendary Basketball Classic

The Legendary Basketball Classic was held at MLK Jr. H.S. in Decatur, GA.

The 1^st Annual Legendary Basketball Classic held at the new Martin Luther King Jr. High School in Decatur, GA came to an end last night with four exciting games. It was only fitting that this 1st Classic was held on the holiday weekend honoring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The Classic was made up of the boys and girls teams from Benjamin Banneker High School from Fulton County, Booker T. Washington High School from Atlanta, Cedar Grove High School from Dekalb County and MLK Jr. High School from Dekalb County.

The unique thing about this event was that a week prior to the games the participating athletes were involved in an essay writing contest. The finalist from each school received a plaque and the top two (one from the boys and girls) participants received a $500.00 Scholarship in their names.

Look for the Legendary Classic to blossom into one of the areas best hoop tournaments in years to come.  .... GREAT Job!
